How many of you will be happy with this scenario:
United to win the PL
City to win the CL.
Personally, I would be over the moon.

Been offline all day, but I offer deepest heartfelt apologies if I rustled your jimmies.
I know United can't help the way the rules are set up, or that Liverpool can't help that they were adjusted just for them.
But I don't think any club should be allowed into the Champions League if their league form isn't up to scratch; it's a matter of principle.
Additionally, European success that came at the cost of challenging for the league, let alone finishing in the top 4, I would find that a little hollow x
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not a matter of principle though is it
Top 4 qualify for the cl
Europa league winners qualify for cl
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you call yourself a "winner" though if you finish 6th with the most expensive player in history?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What would you call yourself if you finished 10th and potless with the most expensive player in Britain

"It's not a matter of principle though is it..."
That's what we call a 'non sequitar fallacy', Roy's Keen; your conclusion does not follow from your statements.
The reason it is a principle, is because I'm against the rule regardless of the club involved.
However if you, for example objected to Liverpool's inclusion when they won the Champions League; that would make your current position unprincipled.
Itsonlyagame, if that is true, than why in recent years, is it common for winners and finalist of the Europa League, not to qualify for the Champions League donestically?
If the Europa League is such a prestigious and hard won honour, why are clubs like Sevilla, United and Liverpool not consistently finishing in the top four?
If, like you say, it is much more difficult to win the Europa League than it is to reach fourth place in the Premier League... surely they can be expected to achieve both?
But the evidence suggests they can't, because it is not, hence why I don't think it should be a qualifier x
PS I'm not entirely sold on fourth place either, but that's a different conversation x
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why stop at 4th and include 2nd or 3rd entering the CL in your principled misgivings
The competitions have evolved
Get over yourself 😃

Is the problem here that Jose's won two trophies already with United while Guardiola can't even win a raffle with city?
You need to chill out, lads, it's only football

Not that season you weren't
10 worse and potless you were

So definitely not winners then...

You most definitely weren't
Hence the term potless

I wouldn't get carried away with the 'potless' thing.
Last season you won a trophy that you as a collective fanbase have spent years ridiculing as meaningless, and another trophy which your manager is on record saying he isn't interested in competing in.
At least stay true to your beliefs you hypocrites, like we have when we used to say we hate clubs spending big on players or fans without an M post code.

Out of towners supporting city, whatever next?
They'll have to organise a tandem to get to the match.
