Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Probably win more than one

Tyke returned to tournament football with a bang, winning the first tournament of the new era with a nervy extra victory over h00p$. Failure to get to the final in the subsequent two tournaments meant fears that he was just a flash in the pan. However this was quashed when he became the first person to win two tournaments in a row this era. A loss in the final to Kent soured his record slightly, but overall Tyke has undeniably been the best player of this new era, love or loathe his style, you can always be guaranteed a challenge when he is around.


Hugo

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Good, if the old Hugo returns

After an impressive start in his tournament debut Hugo was determined to win a tournament which he did in the very next one navigating the ‘last 16 CL Tournament’ and looking like a solid player. He negotiated his way to the final of the next tournament where everybody thought he was poised to beat Junior, but didn’t. He bounced back from that and lost again in the final of the League Two tournament to Tyke. Then a Group Stage exit in the Ligue 1 Tournament notably a 2 – 2 draw v Boo saw a complete implosion of which he never returned from. A very promising start characterised by his tournament victory, came to a very disappointing end.


Greg

Ranking: 3

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Can see him winning at least one

Greg stormed on to the tournament scene dragging minnows Leicester to the final of the ‘CL Last 16 Tournament’ he even threatened Hugo in the final who had Real Madrid. Quarter-Final exits to TopLad and Junior followed and he was further denied by Tyke twice in the next two tournaments beaten in the Final and Semi-Final respectively. Greg certainly made his mark in this era, reaching finals and beating some great player’s i.e Kent. Ultimately though, his trophy cabinet is empty.


Kent

Ranking: 4

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Very, very likely

After much hype, Tyke Tournament legend Kent finally returned to the tournament fold. However Hugo eliminating him in the Semi-Final of his tournament return signalled that it wasn’t going to be easy in this new era. Another Semi-Final exit this time by Greg in the Ligue 1 Tournament gave even more substance to that point. Yet Kent finally became the player we once knew when he excelled in the knock-outs of the ‘Championship tournament’ culminating in the trophy and ending Tyke’s streak. I think there is still questions to if he really still cares about the tournaments, but on form he is very hard to match.


TopLad

Ranking: 5

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Maybe. Wouldn’t bet on it though.

TopLad seems to have developed somewhat of a bottler reputation in these tournaments. He always navigates the Group Stages looking like a pretty dangerous opponent, but then gets unstuck in the knock-outs. Key losses include his Semi-Final defeat to Hoops in the debut Tournament and failure to hold to leads against Hugo and Tyke in the ‘9 team tournament’ and ‘League Two Tournament’ respectively. However he always proves to be a decent opponent to anybody he faces and you can trust him to turn up and complete his matches. Just sort that fookin lag out.


Junior

Ranking: 6

Tournament Record: W – SF – GS - QF

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Think he will win one or two

Another player who came in on a wave of hype was Junior. Unlike Kent he rode that wave and won the trophy on his first tournament back beating Hugo in the ‘9 team Tournament’ final. Things slowly digressed from there. A Semi-Final exit to Tyke and a woeful Group Stage performance showed that he is still inconsistent as ever. However you’d be a fool to rule out Junior, a lethal knock-out stage opponent.


Oscar

Ranking: 7

Tournament Record: QF – GS – GS – GS - SF – QF

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: Minimal.

The most eccentric player personality wise didn’t have much of an impact this era with his tournament showings. A Quarter-Final appearance followed three tournament exits in the Group Stage Wilderness. His best showing came in the ‘Ligue 1 Tournament’ when he made it all the way to the Semi-Finals and even gave Tyke a big scare before ultimately losing. Another Quarter-Final appearance in the ‘Championship Tournament’ makes for an average tournament record. Keeps possession like a Fifa genius though.


Sideshow

Ranking: 8

Tournament Record: SF – QF - QF

Chances of winning a Tournament in Fifa 18: More than capable.

With many of his old rivals gone I really expected Sideshow to pick up multiple tournament victories, but it just never happened. When Greg knocked him out in the Semi-Final with Leicester in the ‘Last 16 CL Tournament’ it was a huge shock. Then he ran into Hugo in the subsequent two losing 1 – 0 and 6 – 1 before expressing his distain at Fifa 17 and leaving. Disappointing to lose such a good player. Hope he returns for Fifa 18.
