Forest Captain?

It's obviously not Mancienne full-time, just not vocal enough. Worrall is a giant and comes across as an intelligent bloke, but probably too young.

Hobbs and Mills probably won't be here next season. Fox is only decent as a left-sided CB so won't play every game. Traore is French and being shouted at in a French accent doesn't instill fear, Darikwa should just concentrate on his game.

Smith will no doubt have competition come January, so likely won't be a regular starter.

Cohen won't play every game, Vaughan the same. Dowell is on loan. Bouch and Bridcutt will rotate. Cash is unlucky with injuries so far, Ward isn't and won't be a regular. In fact all the wingers will rotate.

Murphy is all by himself.

So, it needs someone who is all over the pitch. A little animal. An academy player who lives and loves Forest. Someone who is actually vocal.

Only one answer then...it has to be Benny O.

Thoughts....anyone?

I have always been of the opinion that a captain in a football team is a fairly minor role; unlike cricket for example.
There are natural leaders on the pitch and irrespective of whether they have the armband or not, they will still lead and organise.

Cohen imo shouldn't remain Captain. I'd be amazed if he plays again and Warbs and him shouting on the touch line might be confusing!

I'd say the opposite Strett. Most people need a leader, even if they are just there to enable them to do their job.

As long as the armband exists their needs to be a Captain. We could have eleven armbands but wearing red would sent out the wrong message.

Cohen's playing career is over imo.

Yes, unfortunately it appears the news has gone quiet on the Cohen front. Hopefully, and I'd be surprised if he hadn't, he is ok on the way to earning his coaching badges.

Ben Osborn wouldn't be a bad shout. He leads by example and is always putting himself at the forefront of everything Forest try to do on the ball.

Murphy wouldn't be a bad option either. It would also help remind some of the midfield that he is up there and could do with a little more support at times!

Cohens a pro, and a leader, but ill be amazed if we get another 5 more games out of him this season. This might be his last season on the grass but there's almost unanimous hope he begins coaching at the City Ground.

I'd say Murphy but there no point having a captain upfront if its the back that needs organising. Likewise, Osborn is so important in our link up play, i'd rather him be free to do what Osborn does without having to focus on keeping the squad in shape.

Vaughan would be perfect but hes the silent hero, and injured a fair amount.

Maybe Manc is the best option we have?
Or fox if Crusty believes 352 is the way to go.

Worral will be captain eventually with a few more seasons experience under his belt (if he's still here).

Can't believe Fox has been mentioned twice! Or maybe I should stop being so hard on him. Definitely not captain though.

Don't want to write Cohen off just yet. He should remain club captain and although I rate Osborn a lot I don't think he's a captain.

I'd go with Bridcutt. He won't rotate with Bouch, he's one of first names on team sheet. He also captained Leeds last year I think and they had a very good season.

I'm not 100% convinced with Bridcutt yet. I didn't like the way he was walked around a couple of times on Saturday. He needs to get a bit more physical or learn to position himself like Vaughan does to intercept and win the ball. I would give him a few more months to settle in before considering him.

Cohen was written off last year and came back to score a key goal in our survival bid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------Yes and looked pretty decent in that game. I just hope the club communicate with the fans a bit better over long term injured players than they did with Fryatt and Reid.
