I think you are being a bit hard on him, he was a terrific player and has had rather bad luck. I hope he comes through and plays well again. He would make a big difference to our midfield.

It seems if you displease GR you are sent to the wilderness. First Anya and Shackell and now George, not to mention Camara, Blackman, Butters and Bryson. We should never have let Bryson go with no recall.

VC, whether GR is right or wrong over which players he sees as up to the job, it has to be this way otherwise you get the "player-power" anarchy and we've been there before!

What I don't like is not picking the skill players like CM. I know sometimes he looks lazy but he adds to the team. I would love it if he gets the winner next week.

I too really hope GR does well for all our sakes. It is frankly ridiculous to even be thinking he may get the boot to be honest!

I have confidence in GR so long as he is given time and plenty of it, (but I thought that when the loony came). Remember Alex Ferguson came within an inch of the sack when he was at Utd.

Re George Thorne.

In the match in question he was said to be coughing continuously from the start and had to go off after 15 minutes. If you were charitable you would interpret this as him being absolutely desperate to improve his match fitness by playing as many under 23 games as possible when others might sit it out. He played the whole 90 minutes last Friday.
