Where is the Genegen then??

The gengenpress, where has it gone? Last few games i have noticed we are nowhere near pressing like we did last season, is this a change from Klopp and one of the reasons why we are drawing games?

Maybe its Lallana missing as he is the press trigger, or maybe the players are just of the boil at the moment. Whatever it is, the next game i suspect we will see the press back at 100%...bloody mancs in town again!!

I have my reservations about the gegen pressing. The Premier League is probably one of the most physical leagues in the world so basically Klopp is expecting to outwork all the teams all season long.

Well, I think that’s why he bought more forwards/midfielders, which a lot of people seemed to think wasn’t necessary, but it will require a lot of rotation.
I’m happy with the gegenpress: it’s awesome when it’s working.

Our problem last season was that it wasn’t working when teams packed the defence and let us have possession, which tended to be the lower-half teams. It leaves us with very few opportunities in the game to use it.

So I get the impression we’re working through alternatives, against those teams. One of the options he’s been working on is to use Sturridge more, and we have been getting him into goal-scoring areas, but unfortunately he’s lost his goal-scoring touch, at least for the time-being: it might work yet.

I also thought he’d play Coutinho deeper, like he did towards the end of last season, but he hasn’t done that, yet. Maybe when Lallana comes back.

I don’t think Klopp’s made a breakthrough on this yet, but there are some encouraging signs, and tbh, I think we’ve had a run of not particularly good luck, so far this season. But even so, we’re actually two points up on the corresponding fixtures from last year, and I’m sure we’ll hit some better form in front of goal.

But for the games in which it works, I think the gegenpress will be back, and it’ll be fvcking awesome again.

Liverpool need to rebuild.

Any decent team needs a spine, eg Courtois Azpi Kante Morata.

Liverpool need a GK D DCM striker to compete for title.

£40m on Ox won’t solve that. Or buying Keita and VVD for next season

Fair comment. Totally fair.

Same as that mourinho did at utd. First step was secure de gea's commitment. then bailly, pogba and ibrahimovic, His buys this season have done EXACTLY the same.

LFC buy oxo. I still am not sure why as he was a nice to have but gives nothing to the weak areas of the team.

Yes, he would probably have been more useful to us for our lack of English players

Next season, if you can get GK VVG Keita and top striker, then keep your Manes, Coutinhos, etc, then you can challenge for title.

You need to spend £150-£200m on GK, CD and Striker, I guess plus Keita fee

Horseshit.
What any decent team needs is consistency, which is helped if you have a big squad.
We have, by some distance, the best record in games against the top-half teams, so it’s not really a question of quality, it’s a question of consistency. Chelsea haven’t beaten us for 2 years, Spurs for 5.

(Your “spine”, by the way, is currently 5 points down on the corresponding games from last year, and we’re 2 points up. At that rate, we would finish above you, and we haven’t even hit any form, yet).

If it was about the quality of the “spine”, we wouldn’t have such a good record against the top-half teams. It’s not about the spine, it’s about the squad.

Your spine of Mignolet Matic Henderson Firmino is not good enough.

200m needed to catch up with Manchester etc

He stopped the gengenpress after about 6 months into his tenure.

You are right to be fair, your squad is lame too!
