As a lot on here will know, I am not a big fan of Xhaka. He is to midfield what ii think Giroud is to attack (as I know someone will mention my dislike of Giroud if I dont).
I was chatting with a Liverpool fan recently who asked what Arsenal fans see in Xhaka. He said that Xhaka is always underwhelming whenever he has watched him including for Arsenal and Switzerland. He said that Arsenal fans seem to massively over rate him.
I had to agree with him, but know others dont. I wont go into my (negative) views of him yet, but wanted to get an idea of our and other teams fans views of him. I've tagged Liverpool as it was one of their fans who raised this.

He is Arteta but with legs.
Nothing flashy but helps us keeping the ball in the oppostion half.
Oh.. and I rather have him than Henderson

Arteta was far more nimble on the ball than Xhaka. By far. And more efficient in keeping the ball too. By far. Arteta was a very unspectacular player, but he was an effective one for us.

I like Xhaka. He is a good player allthough made some mistakes in areas where we cant allow that. He is not responsible for his price tag.

He's had plenty of time to adapt to the Prem now. In my view he is not good enough to be in the team. Too slow, physically and mentally and can't tackle Waste of £35m. Arteta was a far better player.
We need go give Wilshere a go. If that doesn't work and Santi doesn't return to fitness then we need to go out and buy someone.
In any case Santi is not getting any younger and Jack has fitness issues and he may leave in January if he is not getting game time.

You are joking right? Arteta was a much better player than Xhaka in almost every aspect.
I was very underwhelmed when we signed Xhaka but even I didn’t think he’d be this bad.

Xhaka clearly isn’t cut out for the PL. he’ll never make the grade imo.
Think Wenger will sell him this Summer if he continues performing at his current level. Also think he will be out of the starting XI very soon which shows how bad he is considering our other options at CM.

I found an old article I did nearly a year ago. I felt far more positive about Xhaka then than I do now. Now I just want him out of the team.
