Lloris - 7.5 good kicking and some solid saves, probably our MotM, was excellent
Trippier - 6.5 solid but didn't do anything special
Sanchez - 5 looked shaky all game and had one of his worst performances for us, but was very good on the ball which is promising (completed 107 passes)
Alderweirled - 7 I thought he played well especially considering he was out of position
Vertonghen - 7 One of his better LB performances, didn't do much wrong but still looked like a CB at LB
Dier - 7.5 Our best player first half and adapted well to CB second
Winks - 6.5 quietly went about his business, cleaned up well but wasn't particularly solid going forward
Son - 4.5 Our worst player, did little of note and really struggled all game
Eriksen - 7 Struggled heavily first half, great second, well taken goal
Dele - 6 Pressed well but did a forgettable performance otherwise
Kane - 5 Missed an easy chance and didn't get involved in the game at all, a performance to forget
Sissoko - 6.5 Exactly the player that was needed for the second half, countered well but that was a horrendous pass for Nkoudou
Nkoudou/Llorente - N/A

I won`t be surprised if Sanchez struggles against Pool`s high pressing and quick footed attackers. I hope he proves me wrong, but he has had a fairly easy time so far and Pool will be his hardest test so far.

Sandy this shouldn’t be hard to understand, he was a cb who got beaten too often and easily and could’ve cost us a goal. I’ve been very impressed with him but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have a bad game.
Brother, nobody played particularly well today thus nobody got a high score. We created little and had a lot of possession in non-dangerous areas. Lloris was good but only made two saves that I remember. Just a below par spurs performance

I don't mean to sound pedantic, but I don't think you can claim Alderweireld was out of position. He was still at CB.

I think you can, although the difference between RCB and LCB isn't as distinct as LB and RB; any defender needs familiarity and comfort playing regulalry in their position. Considering he is probably used to playing close to the defender to his left, and playing his right-left diagonal ball; there is a level of unfamiliarity as a result as it isn't a natural position for him.

We'll agree to disagree on that one. If the same happened in Central Midfield, I don't think you'd say that player is out of position.

I think CM would be the wrong comparison though. A back four needs more structure than any other position in the pitch, I wouldn't say wingers shouldn't be inverted because fullbacks aren't. Likewise I wouldn't compare CM to CB.
