Apparently Shaw was poor for the reserves but maybe he was told he was going to Portugal and not to overdo it we don't know. This isn't a must win game and Benfica are not the strongest side anyway so this could be an opportunity to give him and Lindelof a chance to make an impression. Jones has been carrying an injury so could be a chance to rest him.
Mata surely comes back in for this and I'd stick with Martial. He was poor against Liverpool like everyone else in the front line but I feel he needs a run in the team.

He does appear to have an attitude problem.
This should be his last opportunity to make it here but he should be given the opportunity but at certain times in his career so far he has looked a real player.
If I was Jose I'd give him a start tomorrow and next Wednesday and tell him the performance doesn't have to be amazing just go out there and prove you want this.

Don't know the nitty gritty details but saints fans said he lived with a group of these "mates" and when he signed for utd he sought a house with them and they all came with him.

I don't yhknm skill is the issue but attitude away from the pitch has been raised by every manager he has played under
Ecfn as a kid his youth manager wasn't impressed with his training, neither were his saints manager/s or the England boss. And we know about mourinho.
Makes you wonder why we paid so much at the time

Get Shaw on as a sub, see if he can do anything, he won't, but at least get him match fit so he's an option if we exhaust all others.
