Heading to the Championship

It may not be this year (but probably will) but it's definitely coming. I've been doom-mongering for months about our owners and their awful decision making. As Lineker has said, the title win is even more remarkable given the ineptitude of those running the club and in particular the incompetence of Rudkin and Neville who are single handedly destroying everything that was built under Pearson, Walsh and Shakespeare

For the first time since 2011, no one from that title winning trio will be at the club. We have never recovered from losing Walsh and it's given Rudkin The power to do what he wants in the transfer market. Schmeichel is now saying that Shakespeare didn't even approve of us signing iheanacho

What an absolute laughing stock we are and what a real shame to see such hard work being tossed away by people who don't understand football. I expect us to possibly lose both Vardy and Mahrez in January and understand that Kasper has not been happy for some time

Can we as fans do anything? Is it worth any kind of match protest or even Cliff Ginetta demanding a session for the fans and owners to meet and discuss the clubs issues? My real worry is that many fans haven't cottoned on yet and we are sleepwalking our way back to the championship

Everton have been rubbish too but I highly doubt they will go down.

Fickle

Fickle?! Mate I've been watching games at the King Power since we moved there. Sat and watched every home game when we were in league one - you can hardly say I'm fickle

Ita gutting to watch how the club is being run at the minute - we are miles behind Everton in terms of club structure and having key people in the right roles. We aren't a big enough club to keep making bad decisions - we don't have evertons clout or status.

As the chap behind me said at half-time last night when they announced tickets still available for the Leeds game: "the club's well organised, they're selling tickets for next season in the Championship already!"

I agree that the owners have made some awful decisions. That's resulted in us:
- getting promoted from the Championship as champions;
- our fourth season in the Premier League;
- one League title;
- getting to the quarter finals of the Champions League; and
- being in a position to pay £30M for a player.

I'm not saying everything in the garden is rosy but they must have done something right somewhere!

We will be alright, have enough to stay up, but to avoid going down in future some bid decisions have to be made. The right manager needs ti appointed and Rudkin needs to go.

Everything you have listed above is the result of three pivotal men at the football club - all of which have been sacked or moved on. They were brought in on th advice of Dave Richards and Andrew Neville (the only thing he's got right in 20 years)

Its not as if the owners have overseen those successes through the appointment of several successful regimes.

The owners have been brilliant financially but look at how this club has fallen apart since the title win. The Silva debacle, the wasted £120m on mostly dross since the title win, the promotion of rudkin, the sacking and re-instating of Pearson, the ranieri incident

Read linekers tweet today. He's right

I certainly don't think we're in a particularly healthy position right now, either on or off the pitch. It feels like the club is in a bit of a malaise post title win. Overall, I think it's 50/50 whether we stabilise ourselves or slide out of the Premier League. I think the next appointment will be a crucial factor in determining which future we get.

If we make a good appointment, a new manager can keep us steady until January when we'll have Silva available and make some good additions. It's still pretty early in the season and there's no reason why we can't progress up the table and eventually finish in a good position which we can then build on. There is no reason why we can't become a Southampton or a West Brom and establish ourselves as a top half regular. I feel that this scenario also requires upgrading the personnel behind the scenes, though.

On the other hand, a bad appointment could be the trigger for us entering a downward spiral. As we've seen with clubs like Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland, when a club enters a downwards spiral it's very difficult to reverse and is usually terminal. We could find ourselves in a position whereby we have 3 or 4 managers in a short space of time which culminated in relegation.

At present, I'm genuinely split. I feel like both are viable and if you asked me where we'll be in 3 years, I would say we're as likely to be 8th in the Championship as 8th in the Premier League. I think the next 18 months will determine whether we are able to forge some sort of legacy from the title, or end up returning to the yo-yo club of the early 90's and mid 00's.

BS

Great to have you back.
And this is one of the best posts Ive read, particularly given todays events.

So thats 5 managers the owners have sacked in 7 seasons.( ok one was Mandariches behind the scenes
wonderboy Paulo Sousa, who he let Nige go for). It doesnt make for stanility, and surely any prospective new manahers will look at that and think 'Hold on a minute'

They might also consider that as manager they wont have full control over transfers, and Silvagate might come to mind. Can you imagine Cloughie, Sralex,Mourinho or any top manager not having full say over transfers.

Or maybe our glorious leaders have somebody lined up, like they had Sven ready to replace Sousa .

Our next 3 games are crucial Swansea, Everton,Stoke.
Not the best time for the managerial position to be in transit.

Well we have been playing like an EFL team all this season and the last few games of last season.
But thats why the owners have changed it now.
Lets look at the three NP out of work for nearly three years and given a charity job in the Belgium second division by the owners.
Walsh took the DoF job at Everton and bought players we wanted and is a likely as his manager to get sacked.
Last two seasons we where still using his play list for transfers.

Shakey did not want Ian why because who would be challenging for a place Vardy. Shakey did not want change either.

Take the new Goal keeper not even on the bench fallen out with Stowell or playing better than Kasper in training who knows. Shakey probably did not want him.

All this is conjecture oh and final the man that one the premier league doing his magic again.

I know who i would have replace Rudkin with at a drop of a hat!
