Brilliant Performance tonight, played some brilliant stuff and if we had taken our chances could have nicked it in the last 20 minutes. Just Wondering what people's thoughts about playing the 4-4-2 diamond formation more often.
When everyone is fit and injury free we could play something like this;
GK:Lloris
LB: Davies or Rose
CB: Alderweireld
CB: Davinson/Vertonghen
RB: Aurier
CDM: Wanyama
CM: Dembele
CM: Eriksen
CAM: Alli
CF: Kane and Llorente
Would give us an extra man in midfield which would allow us to control possession against most team, and with Kane and Llorente's history and ability in front of goal they would cause havoc for most teams.
Kevin De Bruyne has went up level since being deployed deeper at City and i'm sure Eriksen, with Dembele and Wanyama also in that midfield would go up a level. In that four man midfield there's pace, creativity, goals, and some strong tacklers who would be able to get the ball back with ease.
Other options would include Lamela or Son playing just off of Kane instead of Llorente or even Alli playing just off of Kane with Eriksen being the most advanced midfielder and Winks coming into central midfield.
In my opinion I think we could become even more dangerous under this formation. But at the same time it could be a risk when we are playing well under the 3-4-3 formation which we've been playing under in the past 10 months or so.
So what's your view

Not to cause an uproar but is there a coincidence that our 2 best performances this season did not have Dele in the team?

It was not a good attacking performance in any way whatsoever, which is Alli's area.
Dortmund was relevant, not this one

I am delighted with it, for sure . Another day we concede that early goal though (Ronaldo post, Benzema wide) and it turns out a lot differently. We could have won it to be fair, but good saves at both ends last night. The sloppiness on the ball was very frustrating and made for a tense watch though.
Bit of a free hit for yourselves tonight, notbing to lose really. If you can keep it tight, you never know - you could well beat them at home

Well Spurs were hardly going to go to what is considered the best team on the planet and blow them away with all singing, all dancing attacking football, were they. They did what 99 per cent of teams did when the visit the Bernabeau, soak up the pressure and hope to catch them on the break.
That said, they still had more chances against Madrid, than they did against Bournemouth, when Ali played.
Spurs executed their plan to perfection.

yesterday was a 5221/532 with Kane coming bit deeper no?
although i would say 4231 is very overrated we have used this a lot at wembley and have looked flat and awful at times. Was good of poch to realise this Saturday and we instantly improved going into a 5221

Sorry Mate.... Formation doesn't make any sense. Where's Dier ? Jan, Toby & Sanchez all have to play. They are the base from which everything else is built. We are not gonna build a formation based around 2 up top. Llorente had a good game last night but that formation was the result of a lot of missing players. It worked out perfectly but Poch Plays with one (Harry) up top. Llorente is an option off the bench to cover for kane or to change formation if needed.

4231 worked when Son was on form, but he has looked poo so far this season. even then using this Dier drops in the defence and eriksen deeper in midfield, again making the formation a 5221.
Do not rate Dier in midfield at all and Dele/Son needs to set up to add to our goals
