Pochettino

I think people can stop saying that he has no 'Plan B' now. We often switch from 3-4-2-1 to 4-2-3-1 and vice versa. Yesterday we saw a 5-3-2 which most people were worried about, but it worked brilliantly.

Great to see Poch evolving as a manager.

Love his flexibility this season. Also helps we now have a better squad of course. Off the top of my head we've played:

5-2-2-1
4-2-3-1
5-1-3-1 (v Everton)
4-4-2 (2nd half v APOEL)
5-3-2 (v Madrid)

That's a fantastic range of options to keep the opposition guessing. We talk about players improving with experience, Poch is also constantly getting better tactically

I'm not getting carried away as we would have easily lost this if it wasn't for Hugo, but very resilient in phases

Oh poch has learnt big time his evoloution has been huge.

I criticised him previously for having no plan b, then he used the 5 at the back directly copied from what his mentor marcelo Bielsa was doing at Marseille at the time.

Did anyone expect that last night? Complete surprise and we looked arguably the better side. Brilliant work.

We are seeing better tactical nous, better game management. It is like watching a player develop but it is our manager.

Proud to have him represent us now lets hope we go on and win something we are getting closer.

LLM

The astute signings in the summer have made a huge difference (Sanchez and Llorente)

Hopefully we can win a domestic trophy this season, would be brilliant

Do you think he is getting better tactically or that he just has had time to get the players to know the tactics?

Both, I would say vs Everton it was more a 51212, midfield diamond with Dele basically acting as a striker

Both, but getting players in to play the formations helps

I think he is getting better, a few times this season he's had success switching tactics midway through a game (APOEL and Bournemouth come to mind). This suggests he saw something and adjusted the team, and I'm not sure he did that as effectively last season.

You're right that it helps he's had more time on the training ground now it's his 4th season.

I think it's also important he know has a few more options he can truly trust (Llorente, Sanchez, Sissoko). For all we know he may have been desperate to play a 5-3-2 last season, but didn't trust Janssen to do the job.
