The greatness of Manchester United in the stock exchange market is not in question, certainly not. Football is a business but true footballing greatness is measured in the pitch.
I'm shocked that United don't fancy their chances going toe to toe with Liverpool or any other club for that matter.
If any other historical club were to have a similar approach their fans would be seething. It's why Madrid fans hated Jose. 11 men behind the ball against Barca especially was too embarrassing for them to stomach.
Even the United fan of the Fergie days would loathe such an approach so what happened there?
Is this a sign of modern times where United have remained firmly in mid table?
After all, it's an approach favoured by teams in such positions.
Let's be honest, no club that approaches the game in that manner can be said to still be a big club on the pitch. In the bourse, yes but not on the pitch.
Serious query here. Thoughts welcome.

Literally has never happened for a UTD team or Jose team, in the PL era

Being a fan of a team who hasn't won a league in two generations, I would think you would appreciate winning a tin pot.

We have to employ such tactics as we're not blessed with the Fab Four

"It has probably been close to a decade since you won a tin pot, mind"
Is it? We won the league cup in 2012.

Fergie always knew you don't win the league by beating your direct competition over two games; you do it by beating them over 38.
He went away from home happy to come away with a draw many, many times.
