Great article on Poch v Mourinho

Top draw article on why Poch is doing a better job than Jose.

The thought of cheque book robb reading it and crying tears of anger is hilarious.

The "where are the trophies" diversion is a red herring too. Poch has managed Espanol, Southampton and Tottenham. Mourinho has managed Porto, Inter, Real and Man United, spending a couple of billion pounds on transfers. With those clubs, and that money, maf would have won trophies too.

Good article here http://www.football365.com/news/f365-says-pochettino-shows-mourinho-a-real-masterclass

Not that Mourinho is doing a bad job at all, it's just their styles are so contrasting.

Why do you always finish with a sly dig?

I'm not wanting to have a rant, it's just my opinion. Make a comment without a witty quip.

"There's a good reason why he manages as he does."

Because he couldn't spot a young player with talent if he bit him on the nose, that's one of the reasons

It's ok if you disagree.

OP

Dunno if you know much about football 365, but as good a site a striker they are, the author of the piece has a very well known agenda against Jose

As for the two managers, Jose has proven himself at a smaller club (in comparison to the sides he beat to win a European trophy)

Poch hasn’t proved much yet other than he’s good at managing sides with little pressure on them

*as good as a site as they are

The Jose fanboys expect us to not remember that Porto were regular title winners and champions league entrants before he was their manager.

As for success as Porto proving your a good manager, I have three words;

Andre

Villas

Boas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So mourinho is not a good manager?

You daft saps are making me stick up for that vile caaant mourinho now. Need a wash.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The point I'm making is about context. To say that Mourinho > Poch because of trophies alone is overly simplistic.

I'll put it this way.

GK: Gianluigi Buffon
CB: Giorgio Chiellini
CB: Laurent Blanc
CB: Lilian Thuram
LM: Pavel Nedved
CM: Patrick Vieira
CM: Michael Ballack
RM: Robert Pires
CF: Dennis Bergkamp
ST: Ronaldo (the proper one)

Substitutes include:
Sol Campbell, Hernan Crespo, Zlatan, Baggio, Lewandowski, Aguero

Team 2

GK: Scott Carson
RB: Jose Bosingwa
CB: David May
CB: Pedro Medes
LB: Ryan Bertrand
CM: Pedro Mendes
CM: Sulley Muntari
RM: Finidi George
LM: Jesper Blomqvist
ST: Carsten Jancker
ST: Jovan Kirovski

Sherrif would have you believe that team 2 are better than team 1 because team 2 all have champions league medals!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's not what he's saying at all.

Pochettino so good that Spurs haven't been top of the league in the last 2 seasons and a bit

They don't compare favourably at all. Porto and Inter Milan won champions leagues, nobody would suggest they were the best teams in Europe or that there were any household names in the Porto team.
Made John Terry captain and Lampard the players that they were but he does nothing with youngsters.
Pochettino will get his chance soon enough as you have already conceded Spurs are not a big club.

Why?

Check out the tone of your posts for that reason.

Your opinion has no credible basis.

Still finished above United in the two seasons though.

Not that this article, or most the contributors require common sense but:

Mourinho:

What he did at Porto, his first stint at Chelsea and Inter Milan was exceptional. He deservedly had the best manger in the world as a result of what he did for these clubs. Real Madrid he did average. Chelsea second time around he wasn't too great, and despite the trophies last season wasn't that great.
What seperated him back then was his style which set him apart, but since then other teams have copied it and learnt how to mitigate against it. He has struggled to evolve with the times a bit, and as result isn't the manager he once was. Coaching is probably the weakest side of his game, but he is still very tactically astute.

Pochettinho, is a manager who is currently still climbing to the peak of his ability and impressing more and more after each year goes on. What he has done at Spurs and to a lesser extent Southampton is phenomenal, it will only be a matter of time before he gets his first trophy. It may be at Spurs or may be at a financially doped club, but he continues to impress and is making it harder and harder to criticise.
