Bayern 3-0 Celtic

The Match report wot I did (by Rob MacLean aged 59 3/4)

"Celtic were beaten, battered, bruised, dominated, demoralised, outclassed, terrible, woeful, dire, shoddy, shambolic, humiliated by a coasting Bayern side, and those were just the words I used in the first 90 seconds."

I don't normally like to comment on commentators or pundits opinions as they are only that but I'll make an exception for this muppet tonight. I accept the fact that Bayern were utterly dominant for long spells of the game and has us where they wanted from the first goal to the end of the game but what was utterly intolerable (and I've sat through Ian McColl and Graham Roberts on commentary) was this utter crunt getting his thesaurus out to make snide digs at Celtic every 15 seconds.

The easiest game Thiago has ever had? He played in a Barcelona team where the opposition had no shots on target. The way he denigrated our team you would think we were strruggling playing Annan away not at the Allianz Arena.

I felt sorry for a number of our players tonight, Gamboa was hopelessly outmatched against Coman whose pace is the most explosive I've seen in a long time. When Coman was competing for a ball against Lustig it made the Swede look like he was running on a treadmill.They are clearly more than a cut above our standard but we were the architects of our own downfall with the third goal in particular a catalogue of errors. Poor marking at the corner but also an aberration of a pass from Gordon before that, which led to the concession of the corner.

There was some really poor play that came from unforced errors in our passing but the lads didn't give up and I actually thought we carried a threat on the break- their defence did not look too smart. It would have been nice to gloss over the score with a goal but we were very much second best.

I didn't expect us to qualify from the groups, God knows what Sutton was thinking and it surprises me that he raved on about Simunovic not playing being massive when he slates him on the occasion he does make it into the team.

I think we need to take a leaf from the Tony Mowbray school of management, take it on the chin and put everything into a massive game on Saturday.
