Leeds Utd v Bristol City Matchday Thread

Sorry I'm a bit early with this, but time will be a bit short when I get home tomorrow night

Anyway a long trip for the Travelling Faithfull this week and a pretty challenging job for the team, with Bristol sitting 2 places above us (only 1point in it) they'll be looking to maintain their position or possibly improve on it

Venue...Ashton Gate...Date..21st Oct....Kick Off ..15:00hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Ronaldo Vieira will return to Leeds' squad after injury, while head coach Thomas Christiansen is otherwise expected to name an unchanged squad. Leeds have no new injury or suspension problems following last week's home defeat to Reading - their third straight loss in the Championship.
Christiansen must decide whether to retain Andy Lonergan in goal or recall Felix Wiedwald.

Bristol City
Korey Smith is set to miss Bristol City's home game with Leeds even though his hamstring injury is not as bad as first thought.
.Milan Djuric (groin) and Eros Pisano (knee) are inching closer to first-team returns after lengthy absences but remain out. Striker Matty Taylor has recovered from an ankle injury and is available.

Match Stats
Last season's 1-0 win for Bristol City against Leeds at Ashton Gate is the Robins' only home league win in their last seven attempts against them (D3 L3).
Leeds have won eight of their last 10 league matches against the Robins (D1 L1).
Bristol City are unbeaten in their last 10 league games (W4 D6), conceding just one goal in their last four.
Leeds have lost each of their last three league games, they haven't lost four or more in a row since April 2015 (five successive defeats).
The Whites have also failed to score in two successive Championship matches for the second time this season - the last time they went three games without a goal was in April 2014.
Bristol City's Frank Fielding has made 36 saves this season with a save percentage of 76.1%; only Sam Johnstone has a higher percentage (78.2%).

According to some reports Leeds United are said to be a "soft" side, lacking the grit and determination needed to win in the Championship
Also according to Sky pundit Prutts we are the underdogs and he's tipping us to go down 2-1 ........................personally I think theres been a bit of soul searching within the team after the last 3 performances and this might just be the time to change things around So i'm going for the opposite to Prutts and a 1-2 Win with Ayling celebrating his new contract with a goal against his old club and Alioski assisting Saiz for the other

On holiday in Spain and just watched the match on LUTV. Great coverage, and picture and never froze once. Well impressed! But is it just me or is Bobby Davison morphing in Les Battersby๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

^^ Apart from Lonergan, Berardi, Pennington, Cooper, Ayling, Viera, Phillips, Okane, Saiz, Allioski, Lassoga, who stood out for you today ?

Great win away at a side on a long unbeaten run. Extra man in midfield stopped us getting walked through. Think we have a new formation away from home at least.

First 2 goals here if anyone hasn't seen them.

Just watched the 'head butt' again and although the angle is bad it's clear that the Bristol guy just runs up to Berardi and bounces off his head. He went looking for it not the other way around.

That said we all know Bera doesn't take prisoners.

Agree Stoopo. Matty Taylor's a bell.

Berardi is my hero. Then I knew ages ago

Just watched the highlights on sky sports. They seemed to have about one decent chance all game, and Lonergan looked to make a few good holds of the ball.

Showed Berardi getting a red but not their guy, though

Appeal against the red could be successful. Looks like Taylor just runs into him.
