Double standards

Leeds United.......Dirty Leeds......hated by the majority - old and young

Everton - the family club - respected by the majority

Leeds United
Fan runs on the pitch and pushes gk Kirkland. Makes the 10pm headline news. Front page of the national newspapers

Everton
Fan moves to bottom of stand and pushes Lyon gk. Does not make front or back page of Daily Mirror. Were other papers the same?

Everton
Bradley news all over the world. What a great club.
Club doing a lot for the homeless. All over the news . What a great club.

Leeds United
Raising 250k for Toby. Players giving a days wages. Brief reports.
Eddie Gray, footballing legend sleeping with the homeless with fans -might find it on the club website and yep. Dirty Leeds.

Easy to see where the tag really comes from. Discussed this with footballing friends of other cities who had never heard of Toby but a couple could even remember the name Aaron Cawley.

Leeds United forever dirty.

I am a Chelsea fan but I don't hate Leeds and wpuld love to see Leeds promoted and back in Premiership. Also I haven't got any problem with Everton or Liverpool.

The Leeds fan running on the pitch was way worse. He flattened Kirkland with his finger tips. As for the charity story, it was only announced a few days ago, give it time to be developed and promoted.

Don't think the public have the appetite for another football club and a little kid really, doubt that one will get much coverage outside of YEP.

I don't see how the Everton thing isn't as bad. This is a guy that has run onto the pitch and attacked a player. Not only that, but it's on the continental stage. What does that do to the reputation of British football and fans?

Seem to remember reading in a book on Leeds United that it was actually the Everton fans who first started calling us Dirty Leeds at a Goodison match in the 60's.

Strange really, as the stats from the match showed that Everton had committed considerably more fouls that we did!

But somehow, their chanting it meant that it stuck. That and the fact that generations of Leeds fans have taken a perverse pride in the label, of course!

actually I think its the Leeds fans, not the club that are disliked by others...

top of the league after 6 games or whatever, barca watch out..

get 30k plus at ER... we need to build a stadium that hold 70k...

I cringe sometimes the way some of us carry on if I'm honest.. I'm pretty sure other clubs have the odd delusional fan but we're just awful haha
