This assault did not stop play as the player bled with a broken nose, the Motherwell player who carried out the assault wasn't even booked after being booked earlier, he wasn't even spoke to by the ref but the Rangers manager was sent to the stand for complaining about it, Scottish football eh ?

Surely the safety of players has to be considered? If the ref missed it fair enough but surely one of the ref's assistants did? That's what they're there for.

It is easy for us with replay's. The guy's nose was a mess after the incident though so you would think they would have realised at least after.

No it's doesn't make a difference and is way too late. The match officials have been absolutely shocking this season. The Hibs game was sadly just a taste of things to come.
