Matias Almeyda

The mirror reporting tonight that Leicester are planning a shock move for Matias Almeyda, the current manager of Chivaa in Mexico. Not exactly Sean Dyche but then again you do get to see some weird and wonderful names thrown about during the managerial merry go round

He's been very impressive at Chivas, taking them from relegation to the title and playing some very attractive football along the way, but of course the premier league is very doffeeent to Mexico. Regarded as a very bright young manager he has yet to test himself in Europe at all so comes as risk

Have a read about him here

Oh don't get me wrong it's a huge gamble if we appointed him although someone in Europe will at some stage. I'd rather it wasn't us, just impressed what with what he did at chivas - at any level of football that's pretty good going.

Would you say the Mexican league is on a par with the Scottish Premier?? Hehe

Look at the Rangers Manager won the grand prize in Mexico, he is a bit of a mad man, still willing to give him time as there might be a genius in there.

But you can finish 8th and still be crown d champions in Mexico

Fair point. And we are stupid enough as a club to take this kind of gamble when Dyche is in the market

Could pay off. But it depends on How's his English is. I think a move to Spain or Italy for him might be better as he has played in those leagues.

Better to go for someone with a decent EPL track record but now you are competeing with Everton so you may not get the one you actually want.

Oh dont worry puffin our appointment will be so left field that we won't be competing with anyone

As a follower of the mexican league I don 't think he is up to it. The game is played there at a walking pace. The format is different as you have two league titles in one season and he needs to adjust to this league. It will be a shock for him when he sees the pace of the epl.
