Dearest Bears and Jam Tarts
Me and a couple of mates are travelling from the luxorious North West of England to Edinburgh on Saturday partly to see Hearts v Rangers but primarily for a p*ss up.
Can anyone recommend places to go after the game for beer and food? Will most likely be a pub crawl sort of afternoon/night but none of us have been before so don't know the best places to go.
Looking forward to Begbie spotting.

next year come up to Scotland and go where the Wall Street Journal recommends travelling

Actually if you want a nice wee atmosphere head over to Dropkick Murphy's, will be good from around 2pm I'd say...

A pub I was in once during the world cup was called pear tree I think. Bit of a walk but loads of room and a beer garden (although unlikely to be necessary this weekend). I was quite drunk but had a decent time there.

Pear tree is decent. It's near the main student union, you can go and see all the lovely student girls who are too good for you

A couple of decent boozers on the Lothian road - recommend the Red Squirrel. It also has the added bonus of working your way up to the pubic triangle then you can go along to the Grassmarket with a semi

The Central Bar in Leith or the Westsider in Wester Hailes.

Stockbridge is decent 😂

The best areas to go to are Pilton, Muirhouse, Niddrie, Sighthill, East Craigs, Craigmillar and Wester Hailes. All really nice. Avoid rough areas like Stockbridge, Morningside, Merchiston and Craiglockhart etc and you'll be fine

Wester Hailes is on the list due to my enjoyment of Irvine Welsh books. Sunshine on Leith indeed.
Thanks for the suggestions.
