So how do we fix it?

So I’ve done my complainy bit, and now that’s out of my system, let’s try something a bit more constructive.

Personally, I’d like to see us be a bit braver and try a 3 at the back setup.

Maybe a 3-4-3 with this kind of lineup:

———————Lonergan
—Pennington—Jansson—Cooper
Ayling—-O’Kane—-Vieira—-Dallas
———————Saiz
—————Roofe—Lasogga

It compacts the midfield, gives us extra defensive cover, and would force a couple of extra guys up top to give more of a goal threat.

I’m no tactical expert so this could be complete rubbish but surely it’s worth trying something new.

Buy some honest British players who know what this league is about

Ok Enoch Powell

Keep making the same mistakes bringing in players from leagues that are not comparable with the championship both in terms of style and quality.

The championship is better than the dutch league, the segunda or serieB and the sooner we realise this the better.

Go do a Wolves and sign quality foreigners - thats fine.
Watford got out of here on Serie A players.

Cheap foreign gambles galore are getting us nowhere.

Agree with that Kebab.

The championship is the 4th most watched league in the world. There's a lot of money here and a lot of quality. Teams go up to the Prem and their players make the step up, just as teams can get relegated and then struggle here. It's a tough league, massive competitiveness, big fan bases.

Wonder what the biggest crowd some of these guys have played in front of before this season

We simply don't have the runners who can run at defences with a ball, saiz being the exception, if you notice each team we've lost against have either out battled us or ran straight through our mid field because they have nothing to fear, In terms of getting beyond their midfield and subsequently back four, if we had 2-3 that had the capability to run at defences from midfield we'd be an altogether different beast

I can see what chriestensen is trying to do, but he's up against it from 2 points of view, first of all is our fan base want the ball going forward as quick as poss & secondly the defence don't seem that assured on the ball for whatever reason, you can pass the ball along the back draw the opposition in and hit the ball long to guess what runners or if they're hanging back pass through midfield to guess what runners , different game plans but you got to have players who are comfortable with a system(s)

....buy quality players but how we do that with so many on long contracts is a real headache

Yesterday with their winner, brooks ran straight through our defence , they win a header In midfield, a pass thru midfield game over

We have been un-fixable since we went down from the topflight...Leeds have been since that time the most frustrating team to support.

When we had the great start in Aug/Sep, I had hope, at last, then bang - the usual craaaaaaaaaap.

Kebab I agree about the quality part just not the British part. Jota isn't English for example neither was Taraabt.

This season is showing that this league is growing in qualitybeach year with parachute payments etc.

Amazingly with the results today we are still in this thing if they can get their act together.

I'm staying positive by saying that most of last nights travesty was down to conceding a goal so so early. We're a confidence team who struggle when losing, going down 1-0 with 88 to go was always going to be a big ask.

What pieced me off was we didn't look threatening after we scored. We should have had them hanging on for dear life until half time. Second half, again, we barely made them work.
