Wow did you see that coming, the most boring manager in our history Paa...
Playing Marhez and Gray in the libro role.
Dropping the undropable Ozi and then bring him on to see out the game.
Shows what Claudio said at the weekend "they followed what i did and then it stopped working" oh Caesar "revenge is a gift best served cold."
The new manager shows all the pieces of the chess match are their just needs a thinker to sort it out.
I'm sure the its all down to Nigel and two balls will council caution and i love TB saying its not revolution because he played Morgan and he did not bring on Slim really is that the best you have got.
Now lets not get too carried away but this guy has got more out of this team in two days than the last six months. As Elliot said our first half performance was the best he's seen not just this season but longer.
So what next Stoke away will be a Moscow or Austerlitz certainly not Waterloo just yet for our little emperor?
Allez le bleu
Foxy you know im not a xenophobe i love everything about France except the people

Ah …. the short termism of football fans. One game gone. One game!!!!! The manager is a genius, but I bet some people will still be calling for his head if we lose the next three.
Claude Puel seemed an uninspiring appointment. My biggest worry was and is, not his record, but his supposed style of football. He's done pretty well in France and ok at Southampton. It's not an appointment that inspires excitement, but it does have an element of common sense.
So after ONE game what can we read in to the influence of the manager? Personally I think that is a slightly different question to the performance of team, which was very good for 45 minutes and below average to poor (in my opinion) for the second 45, but we could argue about that for some time.
What was undeniable is that the new guy definitely made an impact in a very short space of time. He made some big calls on our effective, but not necessarily skilful, workhouses of the team and left them out. He promoted youth and tweaked the side. It showed some bold decision making, could have gone wrong, but instead was an almost perfect audition for the role in the longer term. He even avoided brining Andy King on as a 65th minute substitute, which has to be commended.
Specifically on Gray and Chilwell it’s hoped that younger players will now transition to the first team. The big caveat for me though is: “only if they’re good enough”. Lacking experience versus lack of ability is sometimes a delicate balance to understand and manage, but Puel’s made a good start. He might now be measured on how quickly he realises that Chilwell isn’t a wide midfield player and whether he can get similar levels of performance from Gray again. Let’s hope so.

Oh Joby and Dunge. Great posts. I love you both.
Let’s do 4 way tongues with Nev to the sound of TB gipping in the background....

Re the cups, only if we are in a secure position in the league otherwise no, concentrate on improving our position.
Still, seeing as I'm still reeling from the shock of Sunday's selection, who's to say that Claude won't go for them big time - he managed to get Southampton to Wembley last year after all.

Break out the breath freshener this could be our year.
Nun despite all i have said we have won the premier league but never the FA cup. I know i'm alone on this but relegate me big boy if we win that our other impossible dream.

I too want that monkey off our back. However pretty much the only way to achieve it is to be comfortable mid table so that a better team can be fielded in the FA cup matches.
If there is fear of relegation that simply won't happen, no manager is going to be daft enough to sacrifice league position for a good cup run given the proven trigger happy nature of the owners and their propensity to panic.

Or a new Manager with no affiliation to the squad and isn’t too concerned about giving the B teamers a run out so will try and win the Cup with his first team.

Given the number of cup games
I would have thought modern footballers could cope with the extra games
League cup is 3 games including final
Fa cup 5/6 games ?
