Now Fabregas has won just about everything in the game...barring the CL..he is now aged 30 and should be at the absolute pinnacle of his career...but I have been saying for some time now he's not meriting a starting place despite Conte persisting in doing so
You get stats showing he's covered more ground than everyone...etc etc...but what is he actually doing...to me it's not a lot...I keep hearing he was our best player in the Palace defeat...so fackin what
I'd love to read something on here to detract me from this line of thought...and convince me he's still good enough to be our playmaker....
I did run with the idea of us buying Siggurdson...but i'm unsure of him now...even though he's in a bang awful Everton side

He's still the most creative player we've had in years, just can't play in a midfield two anymore (if Kante isn't good enough to carry him no-one is). Put him in most teams as the playmaker in a 4-3-3 or 3-5-2, with strong, energetic partners flanking him and he'd still be said teams most influential player.
With Conte tinkering with different formations this season, I'm surprised he hasn't tried him in a deeper role replicating what he did with Pirlo at Juventus. Could be a way to make our 3-5-1-1 more dynamic in possession.

Cesc doesn't play like Pirlo. Pirlo controls the tempo of the game while Cesc looks for that creative pass all the time.
Last season Conte used him wisely keeping him fit and effective. This season we already noticing the difference as Cesc influence is not as last season as he is playing more games with not much rest.

He played too much early on. He was never a controller as some people like to think. Still there isn't anyone out there who can spot a pass better than he can, however bad he is physically.
