Club v country

International football seems to inspire fans less and less these days.

Is it just down to maths?

Are their simply more people that follow Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal actively than Ireland, Scotland or even England these days?

England take 30k plus fans to every tournament and fill their ground every game.

Shocking turn of events on this article.

If I was English, fortunately I am not. I wouldn't want to go support them because unfortunately the good fans are tarnished by the racist lager lout Phil Mitchell body double brigade.

A change of culture is needed, the young England fans should separate themselves as much as possible from the old guard.

You know me FF. Stickler for facts.

You can't expect England to sell out their allocations in tournaments in South Africa, Brazil, Ukraine, Russia, Japan, Russia, Qatar let alone take 30k.

You'll only get those numbers to Western Europe.

Be good effort to get 5k to Russia

Agreed. I reckon the big 6 clubs have more active followers than England these days

We should be allowed to choose which national team we support like we are with our club team. I support Man U because they win things, and it brings me joy. I like joy. England don’t win things and if I supported them it would bring me misery. I don’t like misery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair play.

A lot of people I know gave up on England c. McClaren and just follow club football.

I'd guess United etc have more active followers around the world than England these days

I've been edging more towards Real Madrid over the last few seasons because they've been more successful than United but I'll be more than happy to switch back to United if they become more successful again. It's the way it should be. We should be free to support the best and not have to worry about failure.

This is the modern fan, to a T. I'm glad jack has said this. The millennial fan is the name. Just swap clubs as we see fit, that way you always have bragging rights. The way i see it we will eventually all be Chinese so, might as well do what they do.

Don't pay attention to these Neanderthals jack. In 20 years there won't be Spurs or Utd. Only Tottenham hotpoint and Manchester Unliver.
