The best team in PL history

There's no doubt in my mind that what we are seeing this season and of course today is the best side to ever play in the premier league.

Better than any of SAFs teams, better than the invincibles, they are absolutely on a different level to anything that's gone before them. And to be honest they've been in second gear for much of today's game.

DeBruyne, Silva, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, Stones, Sane, on their own they are superb players - but together it's cosmic football. It's on another level and even on their off days they look comfortable.

16 straight wins in all competition, they've looked comfortable pretty much in most games. Yes I fully expect teams that Park the bus (Man Utd) to make it difficult and maybe get a point off them here and there. Perhaps injuries will slow them down in December when their fixture list is absolutely hectic - but I fully expect them to come out of any slump and romp home this season.

Fair play Pep.

City have won the title, congrats to them.

Title races just get more and more boring these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's very rarely intense title races in any division, whoever's front runner post Christmas usually wins, even a 3 point lead in January is huge, especially if goal difference on your side.

The media like to hype up twist's and turns, but it doesn't often happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well one that goes into the last fortnight would be nice. The last 3 have been dead well before that and this one looks like being no different.

Each time we keep getting told how exciting the league will be at the start.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Look spurtle, not being funny, but how would you know what makes a good title race? Honest question
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You either are being funny or are being incredibly dense. You don't need to be in a title race to know what makes a good one, you just need to be a football fan. City and United were involved in one a few years back. Spurs and Leicester haven't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Glad you agree that you handed us the title back in April when you bottled it against West Ham. Agree with you - it wasn't even a title race in the end when you somehow conspired to finish 3rd

Anyway, in answer to the heading of this article, 'The best team in premier league history', funnily enough, all things being equal, cost of squad, wages, expectation etc, you would have to say your very own Leicester City, are without doubt, the best team in premier league history, whose achievement may never be replicated in our lifetimes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on your definition of 'best'.

Best football? No

Best quality team? No. They finished with a low points total with little competition around them.

Best achievement then yes.

We never bottled it. Never got close enough to Leicester.

Tell me why Arsenal aren't considered bottlers when they were in 1st place in January and were a team expected to deliver much more, while we weren't even expected to finish in the top 4?

You have to factor in the money spent that season as well though. We spent around £15m that season from memory. That got us Fuchs, Okazaki and Kante. United spent £60m on Di Maria alone.

That's why I said it was the best achievement. You can't argue with the other points.

That's ridiculous. Of course you got close to Leicester. In April we drew at home to West Brom handing you guys the opportunity to go 1 or 2 points clear at the top (can't remember which it was). All you had to do was to beat West Ham. You blew it. That's a bottle job because as far in as April we handed you an opportunity to go top.

Arsenal were rarely in the title race they finished 10 points behind us. We were neck and neck from Feb to April - you were always within a 2-3 points off us. It's why Spurs fans kept singing 'Leicester city we are coming for you'

Spurs fans don't half rewrite history

We were never in control of the situation. You always had it in your hands. Think you need to have something in your hands in order to properly bottle it. We lost to West Ham away which was a tough game already, and drew with Arsenal when winning it would have seen us in first place if only temporarily, because you had a game in hand i.e. you always had the title in your hands, apart from when Arsenal were top in January.

You understand the difference now?

It's fascinating to watch this re-writing of history as Spurs fans try and convince themselves they never had a chance in 2016 and thus aren't bottle jobs

You had the opportunity to capitalise on us dropping points against West Brom at home. Winning at West Ham would have taken you top. You were fine being the chasing pack but when it came to the crunch you couldn't take the opportunity to go top as the games were running out

You talk as if you were 10 points behind all season and never had a prayer. You don't remember the Harry Kane lions twitter picture? The Spurs fans chanting that they are coming for us.

It was a title race between Feb and April and to pretend it wasn't is ridiculous. You blew it and ended up inexplicably finishing 3rd

Spurtle it was in your hands there was a game that you just had to win and you would of gone above us and you bottled it sheet happens i never thought we could of held you off and until some of your idiots made it personal i would of been happy for you to of won it if we did not

Chelsea team of 2004/2005 season and Man U side of 1998-1999 season were better than current Man City sides in my opinion.
