Of course there will be those who won't admit how well he has played, or even downplay it but those are the kind of people who don't want to admit they were wrong and are waiting in the wings for a mistake, after which they will unleash the great big "I told you so!".

He has got away with things a few times this season, which previously he hasn't and therefore they get highlighted. He still is positionally average and often attempts tackles that he simply doesn't need to. He has played well so far though, I still feel he's one mistake away from him taking a huge backward step.

I kind of know what you mean but I also think he’s one stunning goal away from taking a big forwards step.

He’s kind of in that limbo stage at the moment.

Playing well enough to keep people off his back and start getting people on his side, but not playing so well that you think he’s now the man and is going to be shiiiit hot from now on.

I think people are just pessimistic about it as its difficult to believe somebody can go from a liability at times to being more solid. One thing I always loved about Moreno's game was his ability to get back when he's caught out up field. Others saw/see that as a bad thing as they feel he's out of position in the first place. However on many occasions what would seem him being out of position if we lost the ball is actually a major outlet with him in loads of space with the ball. He seems to have struck a better balance this season.

However I noticed in the last game when 'caught out of position' he was jogging back. That is the kind of thing which infuriates people and rightly so.
