McInnes for West Brom?

Seems West Brom have Officially made an approach to Aberdeen to speak to him.

Sorry about that. On a train and a wee bit drunk. Never a good combo.

Should have went for him when you had the chance

If he goes to West Brom, Stays at Aberdeen goes somewhere else I'm not really bothered. I've mentioned on here before he doesn't particularly inspire me. I think outside of being an ex player for West Brom he'd be nowhere near that gig either.

I actually think he will end up as next Rangers manager though. But I think it'll drag out a few more weeks.

I think-though I can’t be certain-that Zach would agree with you.

My biggest problem with mcinnes is that he has never finished within 10 points of top. I suppose that's not really his fault as the media have been working on how great a job he has done there. He has done well but I don't believe he's done amazing things

It's been forgetten a bit, but 10 point league wins weren't really seen as that close previously.

Playing Devil’s Advocate, would he have been expected to get that close considering the difference in budgets between Celtic and Aberdeen?

I think most are basing his ability on where Aberdeen were when he took over and where they are now.

FWIW-I think the praise of him is a bit over the top. Think he’s won the league cup once at the Dons and that’s it.

I'm sure people are basing a lot on where Aberdeen were. In relative budgets he's done well. But I simply don't accept that celtic have had a sustained title challenge since Walter Smith was managing.

He's won the league cup once and finished second three years running

St Johnstone Ross County and Inverness have similar cup success. Motherwell finished second two years running. With competitive to less than what mcinnes had at Aberdeen other clubs have had success not a million miles off what he's done.

Comparative rather than competitive
