He may but he still has lot to prove especially in tests. I mean when he tours England next time and I think Smith is lot better at present in tests!

Now in shorter formats, he is the best batsmen in the world right now!

Still behind Steve Smith in this era.

Probably not in Test cricket but in limited overs Cricket there is no doubt for me he will go down as the best.

The fact he's even in the conversation against Smith in Tests who is just a freak of nature speaks volumes about his consistency over all three formats of the game. Not to mention while holding the most pressurised and microscopic job in world Cricket.

What sets him apart from the likes of Root even in Tests is his conversion rate of 50's into big 100's - Root falls way behind on this whereas Kohli and Smith are on another level. The only real blot on his Test career so far is England, I'm sure whoelse will be here in a minute to remind us all. The tours of SA and England in the next 12 months or so will show us how far Kohli has actually developed but there is no doubt he is a modern great already.

I think kohli is definitely not as a gifted as some of these other players, but his ability to still score runs is what makes him good. If other Indian players like Vijay and Rahabe can score 100s in England I’m convinced kohli can too. If kohli can replicate this in SA too this coming season he will certainly go into the books as one of the best of this era if not the best

When I look at his records he is already got the most centuries across formats by a captain and is third in list behind Ponting and Graeme Smith. Another 2 years and he will be at the top

Smith is better but Kohli is not far behind in test cricket. Only one place left for Kohli to do well and that's England and I have sneaky feeling that the next time India come over he will be mentally ready like when he dismantled England in India.
