Elsewhere I read that fans calling for changes are complaining that there were too many changes on Saturday. 'Damned if you do, damned if you don't' and 'There is no pleasing some people' are two expressions that spring to mind.

Personally I was pleased that there were changes and I thought that there were not too many. The result was pretty much the same though but at least we tried something different.

As usual during the game I:

- felt the signs that a goal was imminent for the opposition;
- could not see us scoring; and
- awaited the sickening sight of the opposition fans going berserk.

On the final whistle I have started taking a longer convoluted exit from the ground so that it involves not walking past jubilant away fans. I used to do it for our periodic losses but I can't do it anymore. My longer walk exit has been this way for the last 5 games I think.

Elsewhere I read fans saying that the other clubs in our league:

- are historically bigger than us;
- pay their players more;
- get more fans attending; and
- have bigger wage budgets.

The last time I looked none of the above guaranteed a club points. That's why Newcastle were relegated and Bournemouth were not. Hard work, discipline, organisation and team spirit can succeed. That's why Iceland beat England. We might still do it yet but it will take something very special now.
