Last night's Boot Room was a real treat for those of us who are old enough to have seen the great Frankie Wortho play- Birch always has hilarious stories about the great legend.

Sorry i missed it heard about Franky i would of bored every one with my Three degrees and the kop story again.

I hope i am well enough to go the the match Saturday then back to the sandpit for Christmas for me i'm afraid

How times have changed! Frank would arrive in the dressing room 15 mins before kick-off, Jimmy Bloomfield knew what a great talent he was and let him get on with it. Sports science for Frankie was getting his leg over before and after the match!

Used to work for Paul Hunter, I remember. So the story goes, if he'd had a bad session at snooker then it wasn't the practise table that he'd head off to at the interval.

Bumped in to Frankie Wortho a fair bit in Hudd. He was a bit of a sorry sight to be honest.

Remember him for the great times....

Frankie was briiliant , so many great goals , think my favourites was when he chipped Ian Mcfaul who was on his line in a 4-0 win over Newcastle.

Also remember his story of when they were coming back on the bus from an away game, and Jimmy
Bloom field offered to babysit for Frank ( and Mrs W) so he could have a night out at Grannys

Dublin, I missed the Boot Room this week. What in particular made it so excruciating?

On past performance I'd hazard a guess at Stringer, or maybe one of the inane topics they choose to discuss, but the pub noise usually doesn't help - were they in the Woodie's?

Of course we also now have Claude's soporific interviews which would no doubt have featured heavily.

But seemed like ,how do I stretch 30 minutes into an hour show
And trying to sound excited about the Christmas light switch on in the village
But generally just his lack of personality coming over on the radio,
And getting whom ever hes talking to give conversation rather than yes no answer,
In Ireland theres the late late show on a friday night
2:5 hrs which covers news stories politics movie and book release ect
With the right presenter is fabulous show,
But internal politics plays heavy and the current host great radio presenter ruins the show as he's like a plank
