Everton 2-0 TOWN

or 4 nil winners v 5 nil losers .

thirteenth at home against Fourteenth,
Identical 'stats' both on 15 points after 14 games, But two very different
realities taking into account the last 5 played.
Everton. LWDLW 7 from a possible 15, with an impressive trouncing of Wet Spam United on Wednesday night
Hudders, LWLLL 3 from 15 With a 5 nil thrashing on Wed for good measure.

Not looking good for Hudders going off recent form,
last 5 played, We've scored twice, v WBA(og actually) & Man City, & conceded 14
Scoring goals, Home or away, ESPECIALLY away, is a problem.
Confidence is low.
We could discuss 'tactics' employed all night, But consider ! Against Man United it worked, v City it didn't, but was close. v Arsenal it back fired.
4 heavy defeats :-
Spurs, 4-0
Bournemouth, 4-0
Liverpool, 3-0
Arsenal, 5-0
Home form, more so early on has been good, especially for a newly promoted side, W3, d2, l 2. 11pts from a possible 21,
away the wheels have already fallen off !
w1. d1. l 5. 4pts from 21,

EVERTON.
Last two home fixtures, 2 wins, scoring 7 & conceding 2.
The Toffees will surely be confident & expecting the win on Saturday,
New Manager, ex-TOWN defender Big Sam Allardyce, who is often tagged with the 'Keeps 'em up in the Premier League' quote.
Although this last three weeks they have begun their climb away from the bottom of the league,
And Rooney knocks in a hat trick for good measure.
The Blues will be pumped.
The home crowd primed, and wanting more of the same carrying over from Wed night.

However, lets look at some comparisons.
Everton get a good away point at Eastlands ..! 1-1,
TOWN also gave City a scare, and performed very well despite the defeat. But..
Everton Lose to Man United 4-0, Who TOWN beat 2-1.
A 2-5 defeat v Arsenal, A similar result for the Terriers - ie, A good hiding.
We Hold Southampton, Yet the Saints give Everton a drubbing. (4-1)
Everton beat Bournemouth, Bournemouth smash TOWN .

Despite Wednesdays results, I'd say this could be a closer encounter than the pundits will be anticipating.

Everton,
Scorers.
Rooney 7.
Niasse 5.
Baines 2.

Huddersfield.
Scorers.
Depoitre 2
Mooy 2
Mounie 2

From the TOWN perspective.
We have to venture forward, & not play so deep. The Lone striker role should not be an option, We can't score. Aren't scoring, and never will with just the One man up front. be it Depoitre or Mounie. They have to have back up. That said, Two counter attacks in particular should have resulted in goals for the Terriers against Arsenal when the score was still 1-0. Those chances simply have to be going in if we are to improve our position in the League & we are to get clear of the drop zone, Which has become perilously close this last few games, (After a Blistering start !)

With Billing & Palmer still both out injured the mid-field are being worked hard & picking up 's. Although Hogg, Williams & Mooy would probably be 1st choice anyway.
We are swapping and changing full back combos, that imo, aren't working.
I don't think we have the blend just right yet.
VLP still having a two match ban to see out for a straight v City,
Of, Ince. Kachunga, Quaner...who sits on the bench this weekend ?
I'd like to see Depoitre start. His one on one strength is better than Mounie, along with his 1st touch & distribution.
Not many seem to like Quaner, I'd start him, he has 'pace' & is willing to run at defenders, But for Cech's boot...He ran through clear on goal Wed night. That would have been 1-1 !

I'm going for the 1st home 'draw' of the season For Everton.
The Blues will score, But I feel TOWN will finally get the 2nd 'away goal' they have been chasing since the opening game of the season, (beat Palace 3-0 )

Just to mention,
to Wagner in the post game interview at Arsenal.
He stayed clam, & balanced. although inside he was probably seething.
Goals 2 & 4 for the 'Gooners' were Off-side. As was Giroud when he hit the post, As martin Tyler said, "it would have counted even though it shouldn't".
Lets not be having any blunders like that on Saturday linesman!
get your flag up.

Ince to get his 1st of the season & the opening goal -------
Depoitre to equalize with a blunderbuss shot late on
2-2.

It's how we lose Darn, if we battled and gave our all, I wouldn't care less. We have players that couldn't care less!

Derby must be p¡ssing themselves on how much they charged us for Ince. He's not premier league, he's not quick enough strong enough and he's just using his dad's legacy to gain moves.

Talking of last names, Zanka, use yours! That is your surname and legacy created by your forefathers, for you to pass on. Don't use a silly name off a 90's film! And you're sh¡te too!

Mounie, sell sell sell in January! He had one decent game and scored two, he now thinks he's lakuku! Dipshit! Fook off to pastures new.

Quaner, the biggest waste of space I've seen in a town shirt since Kwami Hodouto! Seriously, what does wagbo see in him!

I'll stop there as there all a bag of sh¡te, apart from Schindler.

That is all.

I'd agree with most of that Hydy... Particularly the Mounie one..

See what you mean Wethers

"All Shiite" apart from Schindler Hydy,
Wow, How the mighty Mooy has fallen,
(Come on Pal, you walked into that one).

Hogg is faultless, apart from when his wife is having young un's..
Lossl improves game on game.
Williams, Can't agree with you on him being 'shiite'.
He grafts & is a perfect double act with Hogg for me.
Between 'em the Cherry/McGill pairing of the early 70's.

We've ALL bagged The Van Man, me included, But we have missed his endeavours forward & out wide this last two games.
The big Belgian, No20. In another side, With players providing quality assistance, He'd be a stand out sensation in the Prem so far this season.
He covers a monumental amount of ground trying in vain to close darn - more often than not - a three man defensive back line. There aren't many central defenders going to get the better of him in the one on one tussles, His 1st touch is very good, He simply needs more support,

Quality 'costs'.
Big time.
We haven't got that kind of clout.
Arsenal have also dominated the ball against The Money machine (Who we defeated ) Last night. Compare the stats of TOWN & United at the Emirates, very similar.
They (United) Put away their chances, being just 4 shots on target, against our 2 that produced nothing.
Quality ! Our Target men Mounie & Depoitre combined what ? around £15 Mill !
Lingard/Valencia bought for approx £25mill.(The united scorers)

Pogba & Lukaku couldn't score ! Expensive non performers, de Gea Man of the match !
We are literally NOT in that league. £££ Never will be.

As for Players who couldn't care less,
For me they All give it their all, Except Mounie.
He's of the 'like', Me , me ,me .... He'd be another who moaned if the club missed his Birthday, Like that bloated big head at man City.... I'll agree with you on him, "get rid".
The rest, I reckon they do try, They're just not good enough.
All the more reason to keep cheering 'em on & supporting them.

Just a side issue, maybe a topic to tied us over in another thread untill the Brighton game...
Even if Wagner has tabs on quality players to come in & get the job done..
a) Because of the predicament we are in, Would such players be a bit reluctant to come to a side that could possibly drop into the Championship !
b) Can, or Would Olive Oil be able to pay the wages demanded by such characters, I doubt it, and wouldn't blame him either.
(Then would that cause 'rumblings' & discontent among the rest of the squad ?)
No easy answers,
No easy solutions.
It's a rough ride, t'was always going to be so.

It puts in perspective how well Burnley & Bournemouth
are doing compared with the likes of Sunderland & Villa. Huge clubs with a far bigger fan base & finances. We are neck & neck with another under achieving club..Newcastle, How well are we doing compared to them brilliant.

Well done Darn for trying to steady the ship. However, it’s sinking and we fellow 606’s can’t bale out the water fast enough.

Aye Darn, you have a few good points there, but like I've said before, why not treat every game like a cup final? Go for it, or defend like fook and try to nick it.

Who would you like in January? Go for Hugill from Preston, drop Mounie to the 23's,and fook him off int summer. As for Vlp, I'll admit it, we've missed him, I'd have Lolley int side rather than Quaner.

Yes, a very different team away from home!

I’d like to see Barry Bannan in the middle of the park, he’s a tenacious little fella and is a handful.

Ship Mounie, Quaner and VLP out. I’d love to add Mooy to the list, but it won’t happen!

Need another striker or two, depending if Wagner plays two up front. I’ve mentioned it before, bring in someone in from the Championship or even League One, who is smashing the goals in.

Can we bring Jack Payne back or was his move permanent? Obviously, not as a striker, but he’s another tricky player in the midfield who could drive forward and cause issues.

I think Ince’s ship has sailed, poor lad, he won’t get another break in the Premier League again. Sadly, he’s not quite up to the grade! His dad’s gonna beat him up.
🤕

Defence wise, Whanka has to go! We need a decent speedy CB, I’ve said this before.
🤔

I wouldn’t want Hoyle to splurge too much cash though, must safeguard the future of HTFC.

Payne is lightweight... He's on loan
