January window

Right so presuming we stay roughly where
We believe we should be 8th place
Who are we looking for in the January window
To reinforce the squad,
a Right back, and if mahrez goes do we stick with
Albrighton and gray with silva dropping into midfield

And then whom will the summer targets be?

I think that about covers it to be fair, dublin. Amartey can probably consider himself a bit unlucky after recent good performances at right back, but one would think that Puel would want someone more attacking, at least as an option. And then, a replacement for Mahrez if he goes (as much as Mahrez can be replaced).

Aside from that I see no reason for an overhaul unless we find someone significantly better than what we have.

A goalkeeper?? (Sorry, that's for another thread...)

Another CB perhaps? WTF has happened to Huth?

Mahrez MUST stay - even if we have to lock him in a cupboard between matches.

I would rather see Dragovic get a chance before running off and buying another centre back. Same with Amartey in that position.

Dragovic in particular has looked quite assured in the cup matches and another year he would probably have got his chance in the league by now through injury or suspension.

It's also worth noting that we've brought in a manager to develop youth products, meaning (in part) that I expect we won't be looking to throw money around in the transfer windows. Particularly not if there's a new training ground and a stadium extension to fund...

I always believe that you should never be completely happy with your squad as it needs continuous evolution. You shouldn't stand still, but I've also always liked Pearson's mantra that you should only go into the market if there is an opportunity to improve on what you've got.

I'm not sure that there will be much opportunity in the January market. The window never represents good value and, if we stay where we are, there is no need for any panic buys.

It would be good, but not essential to get another right back. This wouldn't necessarily be to replace Simpson, but it would be good to have a player who gives another type of option. Puel looks like he is prepared to rotate the team and play different formations so an attacking alternative to Danny would be useful.

Other than that I'm always looking for two good players in every position. Silva potentially adds much needed depth in midfield, but wouldn't it be great to finally find an attacking midfielder or no. 10 to play behind Vardy. If there was one type of player I'd like this would be it, but good playmakers in the no.10/AM role are hard to find. I don't expect there to be an opportunity in January to find one for the right sort of money.

mahrez and several rolls of duct tape

i think you've both really covered it Dung & Joby

short of someone having a bust up at there club and becoming available january can best be ignored
but if the season slips away to say 11th to 14 with no chance of going up or down id hope he would push the youth players and experiment with the rest of the season
in so, identifying whom he wants for the summer
where hopefully are erm buyers have learnt there lesson and are on the ball

I'm not totally sure if it was linked to his ankle surgery or another issue but I did hear he's back in training.

Mahrez appears to be the only player who might move on that anyone would be bothered about although I would expect some rumours about Everton chasing our Stars with the obvious links now, Mahrez the snake has ramped up the PR cycle letting interested teams know he's still available and is suddenly showing some good form pre the window opening.

I don't think he'll go though, I don't think he's shown enough for other Clubs to pay our Valuation and I'm not even sure which Clubs really want him.

Where will he be on the final transfer deadline day this time making a fool of himself?

Will his form take a downturn if he's still here in the New Year?

I see that George Thomas has impressed in his time in the under 23's and could be on the verge of making the First Team squad or going out on Loan to continue his progress.

I met his Gran the other week who goes to see his every match, she couldn't be prouder that he's made it to Leicester after moving here from Coventry in the Summer.
