Morata

Can Morata score with his feet ? No issue with him in the air, most of his hold up play bar going down a little easy and how he make a space for himself. But we really need him to start scoring with his feet. Fair play their keeper last night was top class but he had a couple of chances he really should be putting away. I'm hoping it's just a confidence issue and when one goes in the floodgates will open but I'm not too sure

two issues with him at the moment

-his speed
-his finishing

He is so slow to turn, and needs to work on his agility, in straight lines he's got quite suprising pace, but in and around players and having to play one twos he is cumbersome

His finishing, last night he should have scored the 1 on 1, probably done better with the toe poke, got his foot on the ball in the six yard box, and aimed his header either side of the keeper. seems to have started missing quite a few chances, but it will come with better deicision making imo. His technique is there and he is putting some away. Tbh since i've been sitting infront of his mrs, he has not been scoring! Maybe shes offputting!

I liked his left footed powerful shot that Oblak had to save despite going wide early in first half, sometimes I think he has to do it more. Those kind of instinctive hits that work the goalie, Lukaku and especially Kane do it well. If they go in they go in but if not you've made a chance, got a shot on goal, marked yourself as dangerous in the match. Morata in similar positions sometimes overplays it / ends up producing a weak effort into goalie's hands.

Sometimes he just needs to shoot as TBK has said, Against Utd he had a good opportunity to shoot and tried to be clever and ended up falling over himself.

Them shots go in sometimes, Just look at Alonso away to Spurs.

hmmm he had about 5 shots lastnight, should have scored from 2 or 3 of them. Don't think thats the issue completely

Course he can. Scored the majority of his goals for Real with his feet last year, Conte just likes playing with a target man in a 3-5-2 (+ our 3-5-1-1 thing), so in that respect Morata's handy more than anything else.

You can tell it's not his natural game, a bit lightweight, has issues holding up the ball when tightly marked, his ability in the air (which I didn't know was this good) is compensating for that. If we move to a more fluid attacking setup at some point, what'll become prevalent is his surprising turn of pace. It catches you out (and evidently the defenders).
