Beginning to get really expensive

As I stated a few days ago, I am coming up from London for the Norwich game on 16th. Decided only an idiot would drive 370 miles in one hit so I would get a train, so far it's costing me £37 for my seat in the Upper East Stand. £36 to get to Leeds but only £29 to get home again. £9 on the tube. That's £111 before I pay for refreshments (a meal deal on Virgin trains is £10 look closely a meal deal is 4 cans of lager but doesn't include any food https://www.virgintrains.co.uk/~/media/vt/files/pdf/components/shop%20menu.ashx?la=en).
Take a sandwich or two.
Merchandise, a programme, fish and chips, cab from Leeds station to the ground (never been to Leeds proper is it walkable?)
I reckon £200 all in. Who can afford that week in week out.
Christmas is out of the window.

The name makes perfect sense to those with English as a first language. He's saying he would drive up IF he was stupid enough to...
Mind you, even if I lived in Leeds I'd think twice about going to Elland Road. I mean, who'd be daft enough to put themselves into debt to fund the flash lifestyles of second-rate players who don't give a damn about the club? Form a queue please...

Are you from up this way, or support us for a different reason? A few mates live down south now and struggle to get to games, only at xmas time when back they go to a few games. It's tough when it's so expensive to get tickets on top of travel, there must be supporters clubs that do travel?

When I've gone to away games, I've always driven or got the train, which ever is cheapest. Gelderd is right about not wasting money at the ground, not only is food and beer well overpriced, it's not very nice at all.

I never buy programmes or food at the ground. I buy a pint at half time and that's it....and more often than not its crap.

You can get the bus from the city centre and back for £3.00 return I think

Harrogate I was born in Boundary Park Hospital, remember first team i supported was City. Used to go with Dad to see Oldham when they played in tangerine and blue. I was a kid then. Moved to Essex when I was 9 as my Dad was a builder and was employed to build a pet hospital in East London. By then though City were a reasonable side with some quality players like Franny Lee, Tony Book, Mike Summerbee and Joe Corrigan, I had discovered my one true love, what a team. Never wavered and pleased to say that, though I could have, I have never come close to supporting that team.

I’m near Rickmansworth, I fell your pain, it’s a really expensive trip even more so if you stop over.

I feel my Elland Rd days are over as I now live 380 miles away, it is about a 6 hour drive 1 way. Ealing Common is a short ramble fella
