Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux Live Fight Thread!

On December 9, two of the greatest amateur fighters to ever lace up a pair of boxing gloves finally go toe to toe in a professional contest for the WBO super featherweight title and more importantly, for the pound for pound number 1 spot. Lomachenko's razor sharp angles and accuracy vs the lightning speed, reflexes and slickness of Rigondeaux. This is the purists super fight because there are no levels above these two men, they are the pinnacle and at Madison square garden, the showdown of a lifetime takes place.

Predictions:
Stylistically, this is a tricky fight to predict because of the level they operate at. Both men might just have the highest boxing IQ in the game at present. Rigo uses his speed and movement as does Lomachenko, although the latter implements angles far better. Lomachenko also throws a lot more punches but lacks the power that Rigo has in the lower weight classes. I think this fight will be a technical affair throughout the first 5 rounds and then I see Lomachenko changing tactics and using his size to come forward and overwhelm Rigo. Rigo has taken a long break and I am not too sure how sharp he will be but I expect him to catch Lomachenko with some clean left hands but I do not think any of his power will carry up to super featherweight. Lomachenko will try to physically bully the smaller man as the fight goes on and I see him winning via a unanimous decision.

James hinted heavily at 'changing camp' in his post fight interview. Said it about 4 times. Think Jimmy Mac might be a goner.

"Maybe I should change my second name, now my name is 'No Mas Chenko," said Lomachenko, 29, who extended his record to 10-1.
