What a difference 12 months makes?

A year ago we’d gotten over an early hump on the pitch, Cellino was quiet, there was some hope of investment in Jan and hope new owner would seal 100% deal.

It could seem not too dissimilar now but we’re poles apart.

New owner has really changed the engagement level with fans for the better. New manager has been given Support we never saw from Cellino and despite bad run it finally feels like we have a team that has a chance to win midweek games

I’m looking forward to jan window with confidence, I think the club will make a genuine effort to strengthen and that is all we can ask.

We’ll have some more bumps before season ends but feel much happier with the hands the club is in these days.

Agree Jonty. The other good thing is that after the great start and he lul, it looks as if TC has overcome he hard times and we now seem to be back on course.

Not out the woods yet but its a good sign of his quality that he has found this tenacity to cope with the pressure.

Yorkie I was thinking about this this morning. It can’t be easy to find right combination just like that. This player isn’t fit, that player is out of form, team seems to BBW winning so don’t change right now etc etc. It’s only with time that you can truly find out what works and I applaud AR for not being swayed by some results and vocal fans and sticking to his plan.

AR is a godsend! He gets tweets from idiots telling him to get rid of Felix but backs the keeper (in public anyway).

Has a plan and is sticking to it.

We are in good hands for the first time in years.

Lets hope he is backing the keeping yet looking to sign a new one and fast!

Jonty, LIW it is interesting though how many of our fans get the itchy trigger as soon as TC started to lose it.

Its clearly rubbed off on some that as soon as bad starts happening, the Cellino effect has actually kicked into their views.

Agree I liked Rads response also. We have learnt more in the last month about any coach we have had for some time. Its a good sign - Jansson, Vieira, Alioski, Roofe, Pablo all upped their games recently -TC maybe living up to improving players which is what we need from a "Head Coach"

We've been so used to the chop change culture that many fans automatically clamour for the eject button

Since the international break we have been on a run of games which have seen 1 loss and an unlucky draw. TC imo has proven he can survive those tough rounds and come back swinging.

Now the ball is in ARs court because January will make or break our season.

Hopefully he isn't as moronic as you

Good article Jonty and reflective of my views too. The only concerning aspect is when I hear TC say we don’t need to strengthen in January. I hope that is just a public display of confidence for the team because if that’s really his view then, for the first time, I’d start to get worried.

On the whole, pleased with the manager, pleased with the Board room, pleased with a lot of the performances. I echoed your point re: finding the right fit a couple of weeks ago. It pains me that some seem to want TC and Orta our because they’ve not magically found the perfect team and players overnight. It’ll take at least a season to make a judgement and maybe more given the years of underinvestment and chaos.

I’m just glad we seem to be able to talk about on the field activities once again!

this has always been my fear, that we dont give players or management the time to gell and start to put the wins together.
in this league you have to get it together as a team or you lose your standout players one at a time.
i feel good about the team for the first time in a decade. stability.
