Huddersfield Town 1 v 3 Chelsea

Huddersfield Town v Chelsea
Tue Dec 12 2017
Kick off 8pm, John Smith's Stadium

There's belief in the air again after putting on such a fantastic performance against Brighton last Saturday. The lads showed passion, desire, speed, a great attitude and fantastic inter play! Wagner seemed mightily peaced off with the lads after the Everton loss and by recording four straight defeats. He may well of had serious words with the team, as they seemed a completely different outfit upon reflection of recent matches.

Chelsea are the next opponents, but by all accounts, they struggled against West Ham's attacking prowess; similar to Town's type of play from the weekend. Darn watched the match and thought Chelsea were pretty average and Town could get a result against them tomorrow night, as long as they perform the same way as they did against the Seagulls.

No reference to form for this thread, as it now seems any team can beat any team in the Premier League.

I believe Lolley deserves a start, his late appearance was pointless on Saturday. Please Mr Wagner, make your substitutions earlier in the match, around the sixty minute mark, not with about five or ten minutes to go. Drop Mooy and have Lolley there making direct runs towards the Chelsea defence and their goal. Mooy offers nothing going forward. Even Hogg tries to go forward more than knobaround Mooy.

There seems to be new belief in Mounie again, his work rate was better in the last match and obviously his two goal contribution was most welcome! Will Wagner start Mounie or Depoitre, or even go with both? I believe Depoitre will get the nod to rough up and bully the Chelsea defence in preparation for Mounie to engage later in the match, but not the chuffing last ten minutes!

I believe that Payne is the type of player who will also provide a spark in midfield. Too late for this encounter, but come on David, he'd offer more gumption than Mooy. So, there you have it two alternatives to Mooy, ready, willing and potentially full of belief! It took a defender, Schindler, to see what Mooy didn't. When Smith was crying out for the ball, Mooy passed to Schindler, Schindler dropped the ball over for Smith to form an attack. Mooy was obviously looking for the easy five yarder, which he succeeded with, or to pass it backwards, again which he also did, so double sheep applause for Mooy, thank you! Come on folk, watch Mooy for the whole game and then honestly evaluate his contribution; it ain't that great! I know you'll probably have a pop at me for bagging Mooy again. I get frustrated with the praise heaped upon him for doing a a clodder's job in the middle of the park. He's another Bullock, who I liked, but he wasn't £8M and we knew exactly what we were getting. We ain't getting our money's worth with our Aaron.

I must admit, I was losing the faith a little, I was losing belief, but that show of combined, skill, flair and tactics blew Brighton out of the water only two days ago. Show no fear, nor too much respect for Chelsea and repeat that recent performance and we may all be celebrating another three valuable points.

What's your thoughts? Probably a predictable line up with the same formation. Will it work against Chelsea? Will Wagner play for a point? Will he try and match Chelsea and be caught out again? It is a dilemma, defend too deep and get hammered. Push up too high, get caught on the counter and get hammered. Wagner knows the threat of the speed of Chelsea's play. However, the lads have belief again and that counts for so much!

Come on Town, go for it!

We're off the pace for this wicket,
The Lags will average close on '50' per wicket within their top order..

They are talking of a possible 37 overs to go here on TV at 'tea'.
Doubtful..
Hope we can bat through it, without loss.
It's been a cool day really... for here anyway. The Fremantle Doctor has been blowing for awhile now.
But we just know it eh !
What ever we do, Their batting performance will shade our efforts tomorrow.

But that's why we like Cricket too...
OUGHT can happen

Come on England.
