Watching City’s patchy performance against an even more deplorable united performance it got me wondering that we aren’t as far off from the top teams as we tend to think when we go into meltdown.
Ignoring the obvious issues with ownership and investment in the playing staff I still think Arsenal are the 4th best team in England behind Chelsea, City and United. Some will argue for Spurs and Liverpool but both clubs have done nothing to suggest that they are better than Arsenal financially or even on the field of play particularly in terms of trophy count.
Again ignoring the obvious deficiencies of the manager Wenger who despite all the ridicule is still far better than most managers (e.g. Koeman, Bosz) what areas do we need to improve as a club?
We are already addressing recruitment (2 recent appointments) and I don’t think losing Sanchez will be as bad as we all think. If we keep Ozil and Lacazette we can still progress.
P.S What do you all think of Joachim Löw as our next manager?
How do we improve the team

Arsenal are strange. Last season you played garbage but won regularly being clinical and opposition wasteful. This season Arsenal are wasteful and generally opposition is clinical.

We don't NEED additional players, there are just a couple of areas we need to improve on:
Our defence needs to start playing from the first whistle, rather than waiting until 10 minutes in, and we need to be more flexible tactically - if something isn't working we need to be willing to try something different

I don't think any team is that far off City but this is professional sport where the margins are rarely as big as fans like to portray. And certainly nowhere near as big as fans in meltdown like to portray!
Thing that impresses me about City is how young they are in terms of experience and how quickly they've gelled together. I think they're only going to get better.
As for the rest of us, bit of consistency wouldn't hurt. And in the case of my team, learning to defend would probably be a step in the right direction.

Sack wenger and hire a better manager

Arsenal, player for player, aren't for off any team in England. The only difference is the quality of managers.
Put Pep in charge of Arsenal, and it'll be us in the top spot.

Put Wenger in charge of Arsenal let him spend £400m, in two years and it'll be us in the top spot.

City will get 90+pts
we'll get our usual 70-75pts.
I think we're well off. And no, Jack Wilshere isn't going to make the difference.
Having said that our players aren't a disaster, a different coach may well get better responses out of them.

Our squad is actually in pretty poor shape. Many of the back up players are ones who will never get any better but are merely decent late 20's players. We don't have players on the cusp, really. Are Welbeck, Walcott, Debuchy, Mertesacker and likes ever going to get any better than they are? They're not good enough now.
Our squad is as strong as it is going to get during this generation.
At least Arsenal are aware, hopefully Mislintat can go some way to fixing this issue.

I agree to an extent giroulski but arsenal seem to still put our performances against the likes of utd? dare I say the performance of the season, up there with spurs v madrid and chelsea v atletico. God knows how you lost.
But as ever, your centre mid is weak, xhaka, ramsey, wilshere, coquelin.
Really don't know where you will go going forward if ozil and sanchez leave. You have a great forward, what looks a decent lb and rb, but other than that?
welbeck, iwobi not good enough.
