I did write a while ago that I would post what I believe to be the names of every Brewers player to see competitive action in league or cup since we joined the league. Here it is.
There may be some who have forgotten our roots or think that some of our current players are not the best. Yet there were some truly awful players who have played for us before !

One of our present squad is as bad as Blanchett Otep.
In my opinion Hope Akpan is another hopeless waste we have employed.Nigel Clough was given duff information about him I am sure.Our scouts must have one glass eye and one stuffed with rag.

The problem with comparing any present players with those who featured in League 2 is that those currently employed might look world class in League 2.
When Akpan was playing for Blackburn he looked absolute class and was a threat pushing forward from midfield. I would have signed him on past evidence.
There is one player in our squad that always makes me utter some words to myself. When the stadium announcer says 'Substitute for Burton Albion, replacing x is Luke Varney'. I always say to myself 'That's it then'. You just know that you are not going to score when he runs on.
That goal at Barnsley (which the keeper should have saved) is the only real moment he has been useful in the Brewers shirt.

We have had a few strikers who I had high hopes about when we signed them - either through looking at You Tube footage, looking at clubs they had been schooled at or how they had once played against us.

Rene Howe was a big flop to me as I expected 20 goals a season because the man terrorised us when he played for Torquay.
The excuse was he had family problems and maybe it was.His build was power on legs,great athlete and he was no snail.To me when we signed him he was the man to lead us forward but my word how wrong I was he was a complete donkey.

I'm impressed with the list Otep, it must have taken you ages to compile it, some of the names I barely remember.
I need to predict early against Bolton, I'm going to this one and hopefully we'll get something from it:-

No, not really BA442. I think I started it years ago when there were not many players concerned. I have just updated it every 6 months since. I am sure Steve1210 of this parish might have been involved in the list in a consultative or cross-referencing role 4 or 5 years ago but my memory is fading a bit.
