Bristol City v Forest - Match Thread

Well, the bookies say we have no chance, but this isn't to surprising. Whilst we've improved massively we're still inconsistent and Bristol Away represents a stern test.

Last 10: (league)

Bristol - W6 D2 L2
Forest - W5 L5

Forest - 11th - 30 points
Bristol - 3rd - 40 points (quite the feat as we both nearly got relegated!!)

Team wise so far then, the only absentees I know of are Cohen and Fox, with Traore and Vaughan rested last time out.

I might update Bristol's and our team news closer to the game.

Team picks itself almost:

Smith
Lichaj Worrall Mancienne Traore
Vaughan Osborn
Walker Dowell McKay
Murphy

Henderson, Mills, Bouch, Bridcutt, Carayol, Brereton....

And one of Cash, Clough or Cummings is my guess.

Do we have enough to win it, yes. Do we have the defensive frailties to lose it? Hell yes!

But, I think we'll nick this either 1-0 or 2-1. Bristol from what I've heard, like to play football. We like to try and play football at every opportunity. So, two penalties and a goal mouth scrambler by Murphy!

Cheers

Bridcutt got pulled right over towards the touch line. He is he key position in midfield. He has to be in the right areas and not go wandering. He didn’t get much help from Bouchalakis by the sounds of it, either, in fairness. That might have caused him to try too hard and lose his head a bit.

Time and again player have been able to run at the centre backs with impunity. It is causing the most problems. The second goal was also due to poor closing down by the midfield.

For that first goal he seemed to be playing centre half at one point, probably as Mills had to go off. I was sitting right in front of that goal!

Frustrating, but looking at the highlights, Forest could have been beaten by four or five goals.

Mills started badly listening on RN and his injury probably gave him the excuse to get off the pitch!

I wouldn’t be too fussed if they listened to offers for Mills next month. He doesn’t do the basics well enough and is always ready to bawl out other players too readily when he is as culpable.

He could head it and kick it, but not pass out of defence, perhaps he forgot we wern't playing in red!

Doesn’t seem to entirely comfortable with the whole play the ball out from the back lark, does he?...

I thought that looking at the highlights on Sky - which you assume are unbiased, but chatting to a mate of mine in work today who went to the game, it was the old proverbial ‘game of 2 halves’. All our good play came in the first 45 minutes whereas yours was in the second half.
I think your keeper made more saves than Fielding, but he reckoned we were far from comfortable near the end and were clinging on.
I will be popping up for the return fixture and I have only ever known misery and disappointment at the City Ground in the past so maybe it’s time for a happy day !!!!
