I think there was a difference between who Clements targets were and who was signed for him.

I think when he came in a lot had been earmarked prior to his joining. Think he gave the seal of approval officially in a quantity over quality kinda way.

Would have been nice if he’d said hold on Sam n Mel can I look at the team first and maybe get a box to box midfielder that can run and a defensive MF in first before we splash the cash on 20 number 10’s for a team that doesn’t play them, 4 million for a defender that doesn’t pass in a team that plays possession football n the rest of our kitty on wingers that don’t control the ball, pass, look up, cross past the first defender or tackle.
