Genius

David Silva football genius.

If he doesn’t make team of the year or sports writers player of the year then it’s just pathetic.

What an absolute pleasure to watch, far and away the best player I have seen at the club.

hmm can't say I agree. And you think he's the best midfielder to play in the PL so your very biased.

hmmm I disagree a bit.

Sane was terrible when he first came to city, sterling imo has good traits but is not the best footballer, similar to walcott for you guys. I think(although pep can take credit) playing ahead of silva and kdb, all they need to do is make the runs and they will be found.

As for average players, coutinho, firminho, mane? Liverpool going forward are fantastic. But yeah salah definitely up there.

Sterling has come on leaps and bounds since Guardiola's arrival

Vastly improved and will only get better

With young players like Sterling; Sane; Stones; B Silva; Ederson; Foden; Jesus and Mendy, City have a core of talent there to carry them well into the next decade.

Exciting times ahead hopefully.

Don't forget the Girona loanees like Maffeo.

The only thing he didn't used to do was score. He's only gone and started scoring. Best midfielder to play in the premiership. If he was English there'd be a statue of him in parliament square.

Silva has been a lot more inconsistent than many make out over the years. He hasn't been showing anything close to this current form for most of his City career, but certainly, he has always been a highly gifted, pleasing player to watch.

I don't know about best midfielder though. I've always held Scholes as the benchmark and I'd still put Silva pretty comfortably behind.

Silva has been awesomely consistent, and I guarantee I've watched him more than you have.

Depends on what you count as consistency. And watching him more than me is irrelevant. If an Arsenal fan claims Walcott is the best player in the world, you won't agree because he's watched him more. I've seen well over 100 games Silva has played in over his City career (and even in his Valencia days) and certainly know a lot about him.

I call consistency running his arrse off every game, faultless control, wonderful vision, incredible pass completion rate and hard as feck.

we're talking about silva, not dennis wise

Silva absolutely has been consistently brilliant, more than any other player we’ve had.

Golf term for a difficult short putt. A Dennis Wise - i.e. a nasty little five footer.

I've read a lot of sports writers and pundits heaping praise on Silva this season, which I can't help but think is motivated by the embarrassment that they have overlooked Merlin in the past.
I expect they're worried this might be the last chance to make up for lacklustre support and are looking to promote him as player of the season.

However in my estimation, De Bruyne has been far and away the best player in the league this season, and for much of last term too.
But with youth being on his side, they probably think they can afford to wait.

Also Sterling is still young enough to finally win young player of the year.
Do you fancy him or will it be Dele Ali for a third time? X

Sterling is far better than ali

Although I might be a bit biased on that one ☝️

Silva is the best player City has ever had, the most gifted and natural footballer I have had the pleasure to watch.
