Hi ladies and gents
The fixture machine has done wonders for the average working man yet again! A 480 mile round trip two days before Christmas! Well done to the money men at the F.a!
Firstly a thank you to Zanka for his kind gesture for the festive period. He's passing on his goodwill to the fans this time, instead of the strike force of every Premier league team in the league. Fair play
Venue : St Mary's, Southampton, Darn South
Kick off :3pm
Officials : 4 middle aged pr¡cks that are on first name terms with every Premier league player bar ours.
Firstly, safe journey to everyone travelling down. I went down last time we played down there, think we got beat 5-1! Hell of a journey in my 51 reg astra 1.8 Sri (loved that car)
Any road, less of the sentimental crap. We travel down there in decent ish form having taken 6 points out of 12. We all know that we rolled over for Chelsea, despite some saying Chelsea were brilliant..... Nah, we let them be. We've beat Brighton 2 nil, lost to a rejuvenated Everton and we messed up some pundits predictions last week with a fantastic victory over Elton John's boys. Albeit with some dodgy decisions, but we've had them go against us in the past, so what goes around etc.
Town don't travel too well, but last week's result might have sparked some confidence into the squad. Southampton however have taken 2 points from a possible 12, so they need a win. They've drawn with local rivals Bournemouth then, Arsenal, then they were beaten by Leicester, and last week they lost 1-0 away at Chelsea, so they are no push overs.
They have the bricklayer up front in Charlie Austin, their keeper is an England international, but he looks as Gormless as they come. The one player I fear is the lad they bought from an Juventus, Mario Lemina. He looks a great player, but he doesn't figure much. They're a decent team, and all the pundits never have them down as relegation fodder, yet we sit 3 points above ( with a worse goal difference) so what do they know?
TEAM NEWS
Southampton will be without right-back Cedric Soares, who sustained a fresh injury in Saturday's defeat at Chelsea.
Left-back Ryan Bertrand is also out after pulling a hamstring in that game.
Huddersfield forward Elias Kachunga faces three months out after picking up a serious knee injury last weekend.
Left-back Chris Lowe could start despite being substituted with a foot injury against Watford, but midfielder Jonathan Hogg serves a one-match ban after his red card in that game.
Sorry this is short and sh¡t, but I'm extremely busy, so it's tough sh¡t
My prediction is a 2-0 home win. We got lucky last week, but and a big BUT, if we start like we did, we can nick this one. Happy Christmas one and all and thank you for keeping me sane throughout the seasons we've had together
