Welcome to the thread for our Boxing Day fixture against Stoke City. Both teams should go into this game full of confidence after Saturday’s results. We got a well deserved point against Southampton whilst Stoke beat West Brom.
I have to be honest and say I don’t know much about Stoke apart from Mark Hughes and Peter Crouch, plus their rousing renditions of ‘Delilah’ I also have to be honest and say I didn’t think Hughes would still be the manager at this point considering the relatively poor start they’ve had to the season. If there are any Stoke fans reading this do you think Hughes should go or stay? If he goes who would replace him from the usual merry go round of managers available?
As to us, do we start with the same team as Saturday or knowing Wagner’s penchant (I like that word) for rotation will changes be made? I think I would go with basically the same as Saturday, apart from changing Malone for Löwe and bring Hogg back for Williams. We must have Depoitre starting, Stoke seem to be a physical side and we need him to hustle them into mistakes. Also I doubt he’ll be fazed if the game becomes a bit rough.
We are now entering the second half of the season and if we replicate the first half we should be safe. This first half has shown just how many pundits really have no idea about the game they’re supposed to experts on. How many of them had us relegated by now?
I’m going for my usual prediction of 2-1 to us with Depoitre keeping up his scoring run and Ince finally getting on the scoresheet.

Second half of the season will be so much harder. The shackles are off, January transfer window is upon us, and it's sh¡t or bust for most teams. I personally think we'll get nowt from the next two games.
Btw, match of the day is the biggest bag of sh¡t ever! I've only just come to realise this since we've been in the Premier league. They don't care for the smaller clubs and go to town on the big clubs! Nothing was said about Lössl's World class save, and nothing much on the two penalties. Disgrace!

......................& here on the main stream news channel, They Showed the 'goals' of the Manc clubs. And mentioned nigh on EVERY game with a 'seconds' clip of the remaining fixtures, But completely blanked TOWN v Stoke. Not a single mention. Nothing

When half wits like Danny Murphy come out with comments like "Allen just shepherded Mooy away from the ball, no penalty", I'm glad they don't put much focus on us. What an absolute Richard Head.
