Realistic transfer targets

A lwb is a must as only Alonso can play there. Conte has no hope in Michy so a forward to help Morata would be good.

I don't actually think barkley would be too bad, travels well with the ball, can pick out a pass and has the odd goal in him. Wouldn't be bad in a 3 man midfield, could see him kicking on abit like the ox has at Liverpool

If we didn't blow the best part of £80m on Bakayoko and Drinkwater we could've tried to temp Veratti to join this party...but we're now stuck with 2 players not up to standard and looking to bring in additions for the same position.

Fekir, Goretzka, Bailey, Gaya.

Barkley would be the most pointless pursue.

We should offer £10-15m for Goretzka and hope it's accepted to secure him before all the pre-contract scramble begins

Midfielder, LWB, maybe a winger(depending on a new midfielder we could well play more 3-5-2 next season), maybe a striker, (probably an argument Bats and Abraham are good enough as back up for a 60 game season depending on how high you rate them), CB (if Luiz goes. Back up to Christensen). RWB would also help but talent pool is small in market.

For summer though. Not sure about any of these coming in Jan.

It's obvious we need bodies for LWB and CF but I wouldn't be against holding off until summer and try using what we already have to get us over the finish line. It's obvious that Alonso is in need of a rest but we have Kennedy and Baba to fill in for him during cup games and against lesser opposition. And for CF perhaps we could try recall Abraham, I'd love to see him get a shot next season.

Our last five winter windows have been awful, so I'm not holding out much hope

Only Zouma and Ba have came in and got anywhere close to pass marks. Although, to be fair, even if Ba was terrible he'd still have received pass marks for that goal

Doubt we'll see any action in January. Never usually active in Jan unless we're in panic mode and we're comfortable in the league, probably gunna go out against Barca whatever we do, and there's no excess fat that needs trimming in the squad (not till the summer anyway).

Knowing us the only business we'll do will be selling/loaning Rahman so we officially have no cover at LWB, cos it just wouldn't feel right to go through a transfer window without making at least one daft decision
