DUFC News - Transfer Update

Carrying on from yesterday's exciting news that the mighty Terrors were looking to make two further signings, I can confirm via my contacts (the Evening Telegraph) that the two players targeted are Emil Lyng and Brandon Mason.

"Who?" I hear you ask.

I'm glad you asked. Let me bring you up to speed.

Emil Lyng has recently been plying his trade with Icelandic outfit KA. He's a 28 year old wide player and scored 9 in 20 for his previous team. The former Danish u21 player has previously played for Lille in France and Esbjerg in his homeland.

Brandon Mason is a left back from Watford and featured for the Hornets in a Premiership game against Spurs last year. The 20 year old has been up training with the team and played a couple of bounce games.

This is exciting news (despite the fact that January signings rarely work out) and I would expect us to still add an additional striker during the transfer window.

Mon the Terrors

If he plays for Lille then he's a Lille player. That's not a stretch

Ok I can imagine the conversation when you tell your mates - ah bit he must be good he played for Lille- and they say - realy he must be decent then how many games - and you tell them 24 mins in 4/5 sub appearances - yeah they will be well impressed

I don't think we're under any illusions that anybody we sign will be particularly fantastic given where we are at the moment.

I don't really care what he did previously. I care what he does in the next few months.

As I said hopefully you see the player of the form he showed at his most recent club not the form of the other 5/6 clubs he was signed with.

Wonder if Mason signing means that they’re expecting to sell Robson...?

DONE DEAL

Emil Lyng also signs up until the end of the season.

The 6'3 player can play either centrally or wide.

Terrific start to the window by the Terrors

I would absolutely expect that border to be honest

I'm actually quite non-plussed about it. He's done okay recently but I don't think he's anything special, and certainly not irreplaceable. Hopefully it's a decent fee.

The lad from Watford has a good pedigree so hopefully he does well.

Yup. Hope so. I like Robson, always puts in an honest shift, but if he goes he goes. Speaking of left backs, have you seen how well Barry Douglas is doing in the Championship...? Scoring goals, setting them up, team running away with the league - seems to be in a great place just now. Always came over as being a nice guy, too, and one who wasn’t scared to test himself abroad.

aye Barry Douglas is another player ignored in Scotland but has gone on to make a very good career.

I don't think he has ever featured at international level.

border, Duke

He's done terrifically well for himself and is flying at Wolves at the moment. Certain he'll be playing Premiership football next year. Wasn't the best defensively at us but he always had a terrific left foot and his set pieces have been tremendous for Wolves.

I wish him nothing but the best. What a life he's got - top footballer, lived in a few countries, stunning wife that he's been with since his Queens Park days I think and a bairn on the way.

A few other boys in Scottish football could do with taking note and following his example.

And he should be in a Scotland squad soon, with KT now a CB and Andy and Barry the left backs.
