The Conte leaving in Summer rumours, just..

Won’t go away. Every time I try to take the Iffy “gutter press" stance in my mind, a nagging doubt creeps in.

If the club do replace him or allow him to leave his contract, I genuinely feel we’ll be losing the best Manager/Head Coach our club could have at this time.

Sorry, I know the club is bigger than any individual, but I don’t see anyone out there that we would/could get that would be an upgrade on Conte.

Wenger never managed France.

My point is that I'm not sure why someone would quit his two great loves in football but decide we were the long term option for him. Even if we were fantastic and won everything, I still think he'd leave to do and achieve other things.

Flash I know. Which might also suggest Conte is not the easiest person to please.

We can disagree on this. If Conte was interested in a long term project, I think he would have stayed at Juve, kept winning Serie As and found a way to make them CL contenders (or waited until their finances allowed them to spend big as they do now). But he didn't, he quit after 3 seasons.

Gazza I'm not following your logic, you seem to be making a lot of assumptions. So what if Conte managed Italy ? And so what if he hasn't spoken of a long term project? AVB spoke of a long term project as did Jose in his second stint. Didn't work out so great for them did it.

I'd have said 3 years is a decent term anywhere these days...

I think they both planned long term projects that failed.

My logic is I think if Conte wanted a long term project at a club (with all the peaks and troughs such projects inevitably produce) he would still be Juve manager. He was winning the title every year but didn't seem willing to wait to build a CL title team with them. Why would he with us? Or the inevitable accept trophy less seasons with us?

We don’t know exactly what happened at Juve. But, we have been hearing a lot that he fell out with their board over the lack of transfers funds in order to improve the squad so that he could take them further in Europe. Allegri has taken Juve a level up since Conte left.

I don't think Conte is first Manager since Jose's first stint that hasn't publicly hinted for more backing. Only Carlo seemed to take the 'dignified' approach.

He definitely isn't. I think the Chelsea board have a habit of promising signings then not delivering. Modric, Stones, Sandro etc.

PSG probably his next destination.
