Sanchez Going

Arsenal 'expect and accept' Sanchez will leave The Emirates this month, according to the most reliable of sources, David Ornstein

Thoughts? Think keeping him has certainly backfired but can't really blame Wenger to be honest. Once the Lemar deal died, would have been crazy to sell our best/2nd best player at the end of the window.

Why Ozil and Sanchez's contract situation was not sorted at the start of the summer window is the biggest question

"Although knowing arsenal, they’d offer him a 4 year deal after that!"

But Maitland-Niles has always played defensive midfield.
======
No he hasn't. Mainly played on the right, and most of the time he has played in CM it has been with the likes of Bielik, Kamara and McGuane playing the defensive role.

"I think Maitland-Niles had an outstanding performance tonight. He’s a defensive midfielder basically, what he’s doing at the moment will help him as well to develop as a player because he plays in a different position."

You said "Maitland-Niles has always played defensive midfield" which simply isn't correct. He has very rarely played there.
Wenger says a lot of things that are distant from fact.

My discussion with trig27 was regarding Maitland-Niles future. Whether it was as a sitting midfield player or further forward. The manager and the one who sees the player every day thinks Maitland-Niles has a future in defensive midfield. I'll take his words over yours.

You said, and again I quote, "Maitland-Niles has always played defensive midfield".
Whether you were discussing his future or not, you still were very much mistaken regarding his past.
