DPL - Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth are resurgent after a very poor start and although they have supposedly changed their strategy slightly,(I am not sure how), I expect away from home it will be fundamentally defensive. That will be a big test for us because they were very good at it last season and they have now got their confidence back. Carey is recovered from injury now and is an outstanding player and goal-scorer at this level.

I think it will be a very difficult game.

I obviously want us to win, but………so 1-2 to them 8000 and May the scorer

Interesting that there is disagreement over the Butler "push". It was very obvious that all those milling around as the free kick was being teed up were jostling and Butler was not exempt from doing at least one fairly obvious push then, but one might conclude (since there is disagreement amongst those who favour the DRFC side) that the cause of his fall was open to doubt and forgive the ref for that one.

Will we ever get VAR for League 1 I wonder?

This new Irish lad has an impressive CV, particularly in terms of his character and with Kiwomya verging on his debut the future is not dull. I genuinely think that we have some real attacking potential - if only they could convert just a few of the chances they carve out.

Hi Don, I think you missed my points off. I was way over-optimistic on the crowd and had the wrong scorer but I did correctly predict the 1-1 scoreline. Thanks, CR.

You are right Crazy and I think I worked from the Rochdale predictions so I shall revisit them all.

My apologies to everyone.

Good one Stanton Rover - if it has survived the winter so far I could send him some Oregon oregano from my wife's herb garden to sprinkle over himself! Sometimes it survives - rosemary seems to be the only indestructible one here, but this winter has been relatively mild.
DF, like most managers, tend to see everything from their side's point of view. I do like his passion, and his, most of the time, honesty such as saying what he thought of May on Saturday - he rarely is so openly criticizes a player in public.
As far as Merlot goes, it still has somewhat of an image problem over here because of the film "Sideways" and some of the awful stuff made late last century, early this century. When I come across people who say they will not drink Merlot, I ask them if they know want grape makes Chateau Petrus, the most expensive red Bordeaux? Actually, Washington State makes the best Merlots over here, but the prices can be high. I do not know what is sold in Godzone, but the best values tend to be those from Columbia Crest (part of the big St. Michelle empire). I think Costco here still has the basic Merlot at around $10. I have not bought a Merlot for about 3 years - that was at a winery in Washington and it was $30! Prices quoted are without any sales tax or VAT - we do not have such things in Oregon, just a high State income tax - 9% on top of ones Federal Tax. Most Washington wineries can exempt Oregon residents of their sales tax for wine being "exported".

Micky,we are drinking Chilean Merlot at £5 bottle,Lidl!

Donaldo, thanks for all your hard work - I would not want to do it. However, for once, you missed something for me. I forecast 2-2 and so should get something for the result.

Here is my latest stab at the Plymouth DPL results and congratulations go to Nookie for double figures.

PDXMickey, fuelled with everything from Cabernet Sauvignon to Zinfadel with the exception of Merlot of course, maintains his lead.

Well done Donaldo, I know how you keep going over it just to make sure you haven't missed anything, then somebody says you did miss something then you tell yourself off for not seeing it.

Keep up the good work mate, it's something I look forward to doing every game

Stanley Matthews played professionally until he was 50 - suppose it all depends on the knocks and rigours the body goes through and whether the desire is still there to keep putting yourself through it year in, year out.
