Gary Rowett seems to be saying to Chris Martin that he doesn’t particularly mind if he stays, but it’s plain that he’s going to be behind the other three forwards and will only get a few minutes here and there unless there are injuries. Basically he’s trying to squeeze Martin out as part of a masterplan to have The Wardobe banging in the goals against all of our promotion rivals. Reading seems the likeliest destination on loan, where his value will increase such that we can cash in at the end of the season.
Martin’s good, he just ain’t Our Gary’s type. Cameron Jerome is, it seems. Someone who can do a bit of bullying. While no doubt past his prime and unlikely to make Premiership defenders lose too much sleep he could give us something a little bit different in the last 19 games to get us over the line, a crucial January signing to rival the masterly swoop for Jon Macken all those years ago.
Personally I like the idea of a CJ in the squad. He didn’t get where he is today without knowing how to run the channels and he could be the bench warmer to complete the saga of the fall and rise of our great club. Or he could be Grot.

He tends to get brought on when we are seeing out a game too because he can hold the ball up. But not many players are trying to get up with him in those circumstances so it’s even harder for him to score a goal.

Better managers than Rowett have bought pups before. Alex Ferguson I believe spent around 27mill on Veron. As fans we can't influence who the manager brings in; personally I find it very strange.
