Just watched our under 23's lose to Crewe, we were the better side and unfortunate (you'll have to take my word for that).
Wilks stood out as player most likely to score, he has an eye for goal and is fast. Nowhere near the finished article but he is only 19.
He is about 6 months younger than Jay-Roy Grot.
Grot is slow, has no first touch and is nowhere near good enough.
The point is, if Malik was Dutch or German he would getting a sniff, might not be starting, but I think he would be on the bench.
He's a local boy and I think there's an agenda to look elsewhere.
Victor is so keen to cash in on his contacts that we bring in the likes of Grot when actually that isn't the answer.
I would be playing Grot in the under 23's and have Wilks on the bench not vice versa. No time in competitive matches probably isn't doing Grot any good anyway.
Wilks shows he is fit and match hungry and knows what playing in the UK is all about, I am not sure that Grot ever has.

Thought Wilks looked to have something when he played in the cup, looked fast and strong. Would be a better option than Grot on the bench and local lads usually find something extra.

I've got nothing against Grot and I actually feel sorry for the kid, but he shouldn't be put in the firing line. He needs a loan or games in the u23's.
Wilks is 100% the better option right now.

What annoyed me was the fact that he could have just gone and win the ball, it was there to win. Can't comment on Wilks, not seen him
